School gets in the way of skiing!

Yeah I been having these meatings with my principal because I am missing too much school due to skiing.
I am gonna miss about 3 days due to competitions and a week because I'm going to Big White.
Now they are threating me to fail all my courses.
FUCK SCHOOL! If I want to miss my classes I'm allowed because I'm in college!

Did this happen to ANYONE?

wow, they care that much in college? for us it a professor by professor thing. some get pissed when you miss alot of classes, some just dont care. good luck at the comps though.

You could try and tell him, that you want to represent your school. By doing well in comps, you could gain a good reputation, and more people could gather interest and come check the schoolt out. Your principal could be more than pleased.

Look at Heikki Sorsa, the Finnish snowboarder. After he competed in the Olympics, like ALL the chicks in Helsinki wanted to go to the same high school he was in.

Its true that I am gonna miss a lot of classes (about max 7 in all courses).I have also a reasonable excuses.I never skiped a class. I'm sure that I could arrange something with my teachers.Anyway I can catch up the lost time.
Now I have a meeting with the staff to talk about my absences.The question is am I an exception or should I fail.
I can't cancel my flight nor my comps.

remind them how much you paid for your tuition and kindly tell them that you'll attend or miss classes whenever the hell you want.

school gets in the way of everything. especially when you fail and have to take it in the summer, or have to go through an extra year to make it up. piece of crap.

omg, you pay for college. it's your choice whether or not you go. if that affects your performance, that tough shit. it's not like attendence policy isnt covered in your course syllabus sorry to give you the facts but i've been puting up with this at my college for almost 4 years now. attendence does matter in most schools.

they care that much? my clasess are 300-400 people, so the prof never know whos there

well it varies. when i used to have lecture classes, i'd skip all the time cause they dont have any way of takin attendance really beside maybe giving a quiz. but when you're in upper level classes, classes are much smaller so that's not really an option

Our classes are about 20 to 30 students each.You miss 10% of your courses and your out.
My english teacher can suck my balls.He said that the only permission to do a make-up exam is to be medicaly ill.So I fucked 1/6th of my semester.

some of my classes right know are almost completely attendence based grades. Those are the ones you have to look out for.
