What do you people here actually do for a living!?
I’m convinced that I’ve joined a middle school cult here on what they call Newschoolers.... Are there any people on here that have careers to convince me otherwise? What do you do for a living?!

Calgary? Santa Fe? This are the only two I can think of that would be big enough.
Denver, Reno, SF, Vancouver, SLC don’t count.
Right on dude! It's a pretty interesting industry imo. I'm more in the Family Office (SFO) side of the company, but touch on the research occasionally. We cover global themes on the macro level, so for the most part, work can be done in multiple small offices.
I'm in Sun Valley, Idaho which is a low key home to many UHNW individuals and serves as the hq for the company founder's Family Office. We have a handful of analysts and writers here, working in conjunction with other offices in NY, Chicago, Hong Kong, and London. The other offices fulfill the sales function, but since our research is a weekly publication, they actually don't need much face to face time with clients.
Is your job more related to equity research? I can imagine that type of work being exclusively in big cities.

Wild. I’m UNHW Trust, but work closely with our family office group! Finishing up my CFA and CTFA actually heading to a conference in a couple weeks in LA and going to sneak up for some late season Mammoth. I knew there was some sneaky wealth in Idaho, but didn’t think it would sustain much of a business! I’m in Detroit area so totally jealous of your easy access to Sun Valley.

Was a hospitality major and was sold on it when I graduated HS, worked like 6 years doing various guest service jobs all over Park City, and just finally got fed up with it all this past winter. I quit my shitty hotel job, skied for a month, and then started working at a super nice golf course doing course maintenance.
Its pretty nice, really nothing too flashy. Basically just keeping this insanely rich private country club course looking proper. Its been a fun learning experience being around all sorts of cool equipment. Its interesting.
Musician! I'm 18 and just getting my act together playing gigs while going to a music school. Also might be working at a fish and chip shop very soon. Broke boi hours.
Glorified lawn mower. Grooming trails in Australia for the southern hem winter. Weather is beat right now but hoping it gets cold and snows a bit asap.
Never going to get rich in the ski industry but I like what I do. Hoping things are good here and I can make this work for a few summers. First season at this resort though.

lol it's a possibility, however, I heard that their patrol had some big issues.... guessing that's one of them...
He's a pretty sick dude though, he's over the medical side of things and there's a woman that's over the whole team, and they're moving and shaking things in this part of the country, for better avalanche response systems.... Training everybody, and for once as a pair, they actually give a crap about improving the situation that they stepped in to.
still in college - got a job as a marketing intern at a small consulting firm - its pretty chill. There's 6 of us working as interns rn - me and 5 girls. sidehustle is doing freelance video and photo usually using drones. then i blow all the hard earned cash on lift tickets
Now I am studying at a rather expensive University for me. Parents do not earn as much as I would like, so I have to earn extra money in my city. Now I work as a loader at a big company. I get a little, but it's kind of enough. Sorry schedule is very busy, so I don't even have time sometimes to do their homework. I'm an embedded electronics engineer(fancy electrical engineer) in the aerospace industry. But I've worked in software development as well. Currently preparing to start a masters program for Aerospace engineering concentrating on Computational fluid dynamics
