What do you people here actually do for a living!?
I’m convinced that I’ve joined a middle school cult here on what they call Newschoolers.... Are there any people on here that have careers to convince me otherwise? What do you do for a living?!
Come on be honest. Noone is a middle man or flipper? I make like an extra 25k a year just from middle-manning anything from packs to cars to animals to skis that rich guys in SD buy and domt use. It pays to know people and have friends and keep your ears and eyes open for good deals.

Nope, I’m no good just scraped by undergrad with a 2.5GPA I went skiing too much. But once earning money becomes a factor I kicked my motivation into gear
Michigan Tech grad in civil engineering. I work for a firm that does all civil related work for cell towers. I didn’t want the office job so I choose a travel job where I get to see the country and climb cell towers everyday. It’s a crazy job, it’s quite the rush when you climb to 500’. It’s mainly structural mappings, modification inspections, and tower analysis. Lots of travel points for free flights and hotels for ski trips. I’m 25 and things are finally working out!

So pretty much been working for no salary for a bit, but have some big things in the works, raised enough capital for my whistler based donair chain and will be opening 8 locations in the village by 2020

I don't mind you at all, but to remove any delusions, pretty much the only reason this thread is still alive is that you have a pink name. Also you post a lot but who among us who just started using nsers can say they didn't.
I second this. It doesn't matter how dumb or impractical your business idea is you sould definitely take out a loan from this website. That way you can be your own boss!!! Starting businesses is easy and for everyone.

I managed to continue my career in a ski town which is dope. Got a degree in accounting and a couple years out I now work at an Investment Research firm. For those familiar with Investment Banking, our product provides non - consulting publication research for mainly buy-side hedge funds, asset managers & institutional investors.
Pretty fun as far as business things go, I'm hoping to bring valuable advice to the cult.

5th year senior in engineering school. I intern in the summer to afford to take trips in the winter. I also took up surfing last summer when my internship sent me to florida.

Right on dude! It's a pretty interesting industry imo. I'm more in the Family Office (SFO) side of the company, but touch on the research occasionally. We cover global themes on the macro level, so for the most part, work can be done in multiple small offices.
I'm in Sun Valley, Idaho which is a low key home to many UHNW individuals and serves as the hq for the company founder's Family Office. We have a handful of analysts and writers here, working in conjunction with other offices in NY, Chicago, Hong Kong, and London. The other offices fulfill the sales function, but since our research is a weekly publication, they actually don't need much face to face time with clients.
Is your job more related to equity research? I can imagine that type of work being exclusively in big cities.
