BrawnTrendsDo you think you'll get to try the Vision and Ferox soon?
patagonialukeVery excited about this (-4 cm mount!), and the Black Crows Ferox Freebird and Moment Wildcat Tour 108. Companies seem to finally be taking note of more playful skiers who still want to do some bigger tours.
cpohlI need to know more about this moment hot mess it seems like a perfect ski for me
mystery3Any details on the Ferox? Other updates in the Black Crows lineup? Quick Google search turns up very little
patagonialuke110 underfoot, twin tail, surprisingly shallow tip rocker line. Pretty symmetrical flex, not super stiff, but has an interesting H-shaped carbon plate that's supposed to stiffen it up a bit without making it super torsionally rigid in the front and back. weight is supposed to be around 1800 g for ~180cm. Looks like a fun ski, unsure about deep snow performance. Way less rocker than the Anima Freebird it effectively replaces.
BrawnTrendsJust saw the Vision 108 in the "ski gear 2020" article. Those look pretty fucking sweet for a 50/50 ski.

Dimensions: 142 / 108 / 128 mm
1605g!!! (I'm guessing in 183) Can't wait to read reviews on them
patagonialukeOur pair measured -9.75 cm from center.
henry88I'v just ordered a mind bender 108 and I don't know what to do about mounting point (I've also a line magnum opus mounted at -4, 2cm behind pollard recommended) because I like ski mounted more in the front (I'm not a freestyler). Do you have any advice? thanks Enrico
patagonialukeI’ve been liking it most at +3 from recommended, which is around -7 cm from center. But as someone noted above, people are going all the way up to -3 from true center.
The ski had better edge hold on the recommended line, but I didn’t lose that much edge hold or overall performance at +3, so I’ve been liking it there.
I like to ski with a fairly centered stance, but I still like to drive the front of my skis so +3 has worked well for how I ski.
razors-chazI know most stuff gets covered in the photo roundups from the trade shows but anybody want photos/info from anything specific at ISPO in the next few days?
buzzsawyep ... getting away from hard goods for a second has Scott got anything there in their clothing soft goods line?

BrawnTrendsDo you think you'll get to try the Vision and Ferox soon?
patagonialukeUpdate: now have the 183 Vision 108 and 179 Vision 98. Getting mounted ASAP.
BrawnTrendsOh boy, I'm excited!
What are your first "out of the box" impressions?

patagonialukeVery excited. Flex pattern is pretty soft at the ends but ramps up smoothly. Flex is also pretty symmetrical. They're very light (getting measured weights soon), and I love the rocker profile — deep lines, but the tips and tails rise gradually. And again, the rocker profile is nearly symmetrical. If they ski anything like the Sick Days or Sakana at a lower weight and with a more playful feel, I'll be very, very happy.
Also got the Outline and new Bacon, so we'll try to get First Looks up of all those skis ASAP.
Peach. The goal Rossignol is shooting for is to have a three ski Black Ops quiver. Expect a big marketing push from them starting in the fall
Park: BO Pro
All Mtn: BO 98
Pow: BO 118
I’m very curious to see what rossignol does with the camber profile of the pro. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a fall camber more “traditional” park shape.
But hey I’m still holding out for an updated Sickle.
BrawnTrendsI'm so curious about it. Hopefully someone will get to test them soon.
scratchskier321they're making a park ski??? pictures?
chickenis it a new park ski or the old scratch? I have not seen this in person/pics. Are you sure?
patagonialukeAt OR they had it in a super short length (148 cm). So I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure it's a "tweener" junior ski. Not 100% positive though.
Carl_the_LlamaAlso, any catalogues other than Faction? Feel like there usually is around this time...
chickenhopefully tomorrow I will
chickenThe lines are pretty fun. Would make a really good touring ski.
BrawnTrendsAre they stable? What kind of snow did you have
severniyAny info regarding faction CT3.0 and CT4.0 changes?
skidemon22The CT 3.0 will be 112 underfoot
skidemon22The CT 3.0 is getting a whole new makeover. We are moving production to a new factory partner (in Austria), I will be 112 underfoot, and a re-tooled shape :)
severniyWeight? Flex? Could you please share specs?! I'm on crossroads - wait for new one take the old one for 70/30 touring/inbounds skiing.
skidemon22Can’t share yet. But I will say this will be the ultimate one ski quiver, especially with a shift binding ;)
I’d wait

TheWeazToo bad the shift sucks, everyone I know who skis moderately hard has horrible pre release issues, even old dads on soul 7s who rate themselves a type 2 on the ski form have been coming in to have them release tested after coming out of them everywhere.
New 3.0 sounds sick though, the last one that was 112 underfoot was one of my favorite skis before it narrowed up.

BrawnTrendsHaven't had any pre-release issue with my Shifts either. The AFD on one ski moved down a bit so I moved it back like people said to do and is hasn't moved since.

Kbob94I personally haven’t had any issues with my shift! I ride and push that binding really hard and I just got back from a japan ski trip with that binding and it performed so perfectly in everything I threw at it!
TheWeazI mean no offense, but I couldn’t stay in them even running the din at 11 and I usually run my pivots at 9, I’m also a shop tech and asked the rep multiple times if they were set up correctly because they just flat out don’t work if you’re throwing backflips or smashing pillows out in the backcountry. I eventually gave them to a friend who rides significantly less hard then me, had a different tech mount and adjust them and he started exploding out if them the first day. I know at least two people who have spent almost an hour looking for their ski because of pre releasing on a pow day, both running 12 din and both ejections were on hits no bigger than 10 feet. Maybe they all suck, or maybe they’re quality control is lacking and a some are actually good, who knows I’m not in a position to know that fact all I can tell you guys is that they seem to blow off people’s feet for no reason around jackson.
chickenabout 1/3 of the shifts I mount come back because people are having pre-release issues. You can tell that they are the guys who are skiing hard. 4 people in my shop have shifts and 3 of us have had problems. The one who didn't probably weighs 130 pounds and does not usually ski as aggressively.
I don't think there is an issue with the shift. I think it's just not enough binding (in the heel at least), for really hard skiing.
-eREKTion-Should we maybe just not buy touring bindings in production year one???? Who'd'a thunk it
TheWeazTo be fair
TheWeazTo be fair I barely weigh more than 130, but I also feel like with the way they marketed the shift they should be able to hold you in, especially since theoretically the din number is same across all bindings, and also theoretically the heel of the shift has the same elastic travel as an sth. If it was marketed as strictly a touring binding I could understand but they explicitly told us it was just as capable as a downhill binding when it isn’t.
