onenerdykidThe "normal" Hawx Ultra 130 S uses the same exact last as the Ultra XTD, so if you need a pure resort boot that will work perfectly for you.
So Sean was obviously joking with his post (I hope you all saw thru that :) )
The entire Ultra XTD range gets 2 major updates for next year but the 130 gets an additional 3rd update. If you look closely at Aymar's photo, you can see all of them.
tomPietrowskiSo looking at the pic. Soles look different but do not look like grip walk yet. But hopefully they are now replaceable.
You seem to have a booster style strap now which is nice.
Hopefully a firmer liner.
And last change, maybe a change to the instep material to make them a little easier on and off?
Close on any of the upgrades?
alextheknifeI saw the samples couple of weeks ago. Non-replaceable gripwalk soles. The liner seems nice, didn't try it on since they were too small for me.
onenerdykidJust to be clear- the soles are 100% replaceable. When the sole wears out, you can put a new one on. It's just glued on, not screwed on.Is this the case with the older versions as well?

TheWeazIf there a reason you guys insist on doing this other than weight? It’s a decently expensive task to replace the soles, and if doing a substantial amount of rock clambering or bootpacks on not snow, the toes of the sole get trashed in a year, not just the glued on rubber, but the plastic it glues to, as a certain point glueing on new soles isn’t possible in the toe area. Where as a screw on sole block can be replaced more frequently, increasing the lifespan of the boot.
onenerdykidWeight and standheight. This is part of the reason we are about 100 grams lighter than any other hybrid boot out there (genuine touring boots excluded, but even then we're lighter than most 4 buckle touring boots).
And doing this reduces the height required for screws, thus lowering your standheight in the boot for super good ski & snow feel.
I agree that simply unscrewing a toe/heel piece is easier, but then you now have to have a 3rd glued on mid-sole in between the toe & heel, and this adds lots of cost, complication, and weight.
Could this change in the future? Perhaps, but it's not planned for this boot.

cydwhitI'll play this game since you've given so many hints:
1. Gripwalk vs WTR
2. Real booster strap with a ratchet buckle instead of that velcro
3. Liner that skis like the old 120 liner but weighs as much as the 130 liner.
If those are it, sign me up. The 120 has been the boot I've spent the most time in in the last three years and I absolutly love it.
But please, please, please make a BC 110. Or bring back the Blog.
I literally have an alert set up on eBay looking for a pair of blogs in 184 in the right condition haha!
BrawnTrendsThe shape looks different too.

-eREKTion-Saw some proto Mindbender 95(?) today. Phone was frozen so I couldn't get pictures. Cool ski, definitely freeride oriented with a more traditional mount and not a lot of tail splay. Decent amount of tip rocker but not as much as the pinnacle, felt way stiffer than the pinnacle as well. Dude who had them had some old ass steel STH 16's mounted so I couldn't really judge weight with those on there. Not gonna be my next ski but I'm very excited to try them. Rep said to watch for #bamf for Mindbender news.
onenerdykidOk - I forgot about the strap. That makes 4 updates. You need to look for one more update ;)
I've told the ski guys the same... Fingers crossed!

Commander 118. Graphics are way sicker than this years Commanders for sure.
elm.
saw them today at red mountain. seem like a better version of the pinnacle but they didn’t blow me away. they had a little bit of tail rocker but not much. looks like a solid touring ski.
e.willTouring ski? Look at all that metal. Sure as shit wouldn't wanna tour on that. The bigger one looks pretty tight.
-eREKTion-I don't think they're full metal. K2 is pretty into their metal-underfoot and over the sidewall design. There's a pair chilling in the back of my shop, I'll try and snap some pics and maybe get weights tomorrow.
Kbob94
The new K2 sight and poacher.
-eREKTion-What's up with a lot of K2 athletes not using Marker? Am I reading too much into it or is it the end on K2/MDV partnership?

razors-chazwhat other K2 riders are you thinking of not riding markers?
BrawnTrendsWell... Colby?

-SnowSnoli-Because while yes k2 also owns and distributes marker it is still a separate business from k2 skis. Therefore no k2 athletes are tied to marker.
skidemon22Does K2 Inc. still own Marker Dalbello Volkl? I wasn’t sure how that worked out after Jarden (parent company to K2 Inc., which umbrellas K2 skis, K2 snowboards, Line, etc. ) was up for sale
skidemon22All new graphics for the prodigy series, and a new 2.0 is coming out
BmilzzyI heard our Armada rep talking about a zero collection edgeless Bdog. Similar to the tip of the JJ just the whole ski.
DensecloudsNice. So the Prodigy 1.0, 3.0, and 4.0 will remain the same except for new graphics?
