Hawx Prime 120 s vs 130/120.

Hello.

Went and tried on all the boots. Bootfitter said to get the Hawx prime 120 s. I found last season's Hawx prime 120 and 130 online for a good discount, but there's nowhere I can go to try them on in my size (can't find this year's 130 either). Does anybody know how last season's 120 and 130 compare to this season's 120 s in fit and materials?
Bonus questions:
I'm a pretty good skier and I hit park regularly but I don't really go that fast or do big mountain, would the 130 be beneficial over the 120? Are there any other boots I should check out that have a similar fit (I have a high instep which most boots don't seem to get along with)?

Edit: I am about 175lbs and my skis are 180cm

I would def get the 120s over the 130s just because they'll be a little more forgiving when you're in the park.

Also try to support local If you can. Buy them from the shop where you were fitted. I can't say I always do but for something like boots I never buy online since I need an experts advice

Cheers, just got the Prime 100s this year. Seem pretty sick so far

Thanks for the info. Yeah I'd definitely buy from the place if I could. They were out of stock in my size for last season's but evo had them still (I didn't really have an extra $200 to spend on the 2019 version).

The Hawx Prime for 2019 got a MAJOR update as it’s now using all the tech from the Hawx Ultra line.
So get the ones for $200 more properly fitted at the local shop as it will be WELL worth the difference in money. Can see why they are heavily discounting last years. The old ones weren’t bad but the Ultra boots are amazing as I’ve had a set for 2 years.

Did you try on an Hawx Ultra 120 boot too? If that fits okay with its slightly narrower shell, last years 120 flex version are out there on deals and no difference to this year’s in tech.

Did you try on the Ultra Hawx boots at all? There would be deals on last year’s models (which haven’t changed at all) on those and might actually fit you better than the Prime. You local dealer might have stock still of last years models so you could get local service AND a deal!

I didn't actually try them on, but the bootfitter was pretty confident they would be too narrow. I'll try em on before buying the Prime.

Atomic Hawx can be molded out a decent amount, so I’d definitely try so at least you’d know.

Both old and new boots are designed to fit a "medium" footshape- medium width, medium volume. The older generation has a slightly higher instep than the new generation.

The new generation of boots is built using our "Prolite" construction methods which allow the boot to be about 25% lighter without sacrificing any of the performance or durability. The plastics in the new 130 and 120 are also nicer. They are injected with our True Flex PU, which is super temperature stable and extra moldable plastic.

The older generation will be for sure cheaper at this time of the year, but if you can afford the new generation they are totally the next level in ski boot construction.
