Whats the worst experience you've had skiing?

Brother snapped his skis at loon second run, forgot his poles and then my gloves and balaclava got stolen. Took us 2 hours to get rentals which they gave us for free then had half a day left to ski if that.

first run of the day with my homies trying to be cool. spring skiing, tried to hit a little side hit onto a little path with a big drop off on the other side. landed and realized i couldn’t catch an edge to slow down and flew off of the huge drop off, didn’t know what was on the bottom of the drop off and thought for sure i was going to bust my back on a bunch of rocks, luckily there was bushes to stop my fall but ever since then i don’t dare hit that trail and that for sure made me sketched out for the rest of the day lmao

Second day first run broke my arm (humerus) very badly and had to have 3 surgerys and missed from December to June in all activities

Last March during "miracle March" in Tahoe it was one of the most blower days I'd ever seen. Got shitfaced the night before, slept no more than 2 hours and proceeded to go to the mountain. Started putting brewskis back in the parking lot and by 10 I was gone. I ruined one of the best days ever. I still kick myself in the ass.

i would say my last concussion was my worst day skiing. caught my tails on the knuckle of a jump and got sent right on to my head, really fucked my head up. Haven't crashed that hard since, knock on wood i have a healthy season this year.

First run at like 8 am I’m half asleep and I got of a mid station to ski 30 seconds to a Poma. I was listening to music and I was so tired I just caught an edge and got a concussion and pasted out for a good minute and came close to breaking my arm.

hit a jump that I didn’t know had huge ice boulders on the landing and I hit my stomach really hard on one of them and ended up lasterating my liver. Couldn’t ski for the rest of the season

Bluebird cold powday in like February 2015 @ Snowbird....had a large posse of friends back in town from college on break and we all wanted to ski.....I went ahead and badly sprained my ankle 2nd or 3rd run of the day and just got loaded to deal with the pain and to get through it. Basically ruined my ankle but anything for the boiz and their endeavors for powturns

Back in 2006 when I was on the CU Freeride program freshman year and I bought a new set of 4FNT VCT skis. These were literally my second set of twin tip skis I ever owned and my Solomon Pocket rockets that I had since Jr. High were shot. It was about my 4th time up on them and I was going switch into a rail and just missed the pop. My ski clipped the end of the rail and busted an edge in. I literally said nothing the rest of the day and just sat at the lodge staring at the hill the rest of the afternoon until my buddy got done to drive us home. I had no way of buying a new set of skis and thought I was screwed. Luckily the tech at Alpine Base and Edge in Boulder works miracles and somehow welded the edge back together and I am still rocking them.

Way back in the day when I was about 8 years old I was at Mt. Baker with my Dad. We ate lunch at the lodge and I had a hot dog that had a bunch of nitrites in it. About a half hour later it triggered a massive migraine to the point I was incapacitated. Ski patrol had to take me down in the sled while I was in too much pain to talk or really function. I still fucking hate hot dogs.

And also IMO "worst experiences" is different than "worst injuries". Could have a really bad experience without an injury.

With that said... My worst experience skiing was watching my buddy snap his arm.

When I was about twelve or thirteen in the Olde tymes I was skiing at park city with my dad popping through a little patch of trees between two groomers when I hooked my tip(s) on a branch and completely face planted a pile if branches that were covered with a couple inches of soft snow. Cut my lip pretty well and had a bleedin' nose and a black eye.

I broke my wrist at the very top of bachelor but that's what I get for boarding right?

I went to mount Tremblant last winter with my cousins and there fiance's. Me and my one cousin being the only hardcore skier's were eager to try to get first chair on our first day. We all came from Cleveland so we only had one car, this wasn't a issue because there was a bus from the village they got us to the hill in ample time. Well, it was -30 that day and we got about two blocks on the bus before we got kicked out. You see, we had a 5 and a 10 (it was our first day in Canada so we didn't have change yet) you would figure the bus driver would just take the ten and keep the change. We ended up walking the 3 miles that morning carrying 50lbs+ of gear. Still got 4th chair though so I can't complain too much. When people say that French Canadian's are assholes thats who you are talking about. I don't care who it is and where you are, you should never kick someone out in the cold like that, how did that bus driver know we didn't just get off a bus that took us an hour to get there.

When I was 10 I thought the Liftline at Stowe looked easy from the lift, so I asked my dad if we can ski it and he really didn't want to, he insisted that we do not do that trail. But when we get off the lift I head straight for it. He had to follow me because he didn't want to lose me. I made my way to the top of the trail and started down, it was pretty icy so I took it slow. After a while I say fuck it I'm gonna bomb it, and as I accelerate, I can hear my dad yelling at me to stop but I wasn't experienced enough at the time to stop without bailing. After ab 10 seconds my skis get all squirrely and throwing me off balance, I reach max velocity and I hit a chunk of ice, skis immediately eject and I tomahawk down.

Last season. I was going up for the 2nd weekend that the mountain was open. It had snowed two days prior so I was expecting some pow. It ended up being well above freezing. Riding slush in the middle December WTF. I a few lifties and a safety meeting turned things around.

Ya so, I was in college, went out skiing with my snowboarder boyfriend and his jerk skier friend.... we bribed the lifty to let us on after last chair, keep in mind that this ski area was only open on the weekends and it was a Sunday.... they must have forgot we were on there or something anyhow, big storm rolling in, the lift stopped.... it didn’t start again, we yelled for help but it wasn’t working, so my boyfriend jumped off the chair... double tib/fib compound fracture... pretty stupid idea if you ask me, but whatever.... so anyhow the local, incredibly social, wolves had him as a snack.... story goes on and we’re like freekin cold and bout to freeze to death, so the other dude I was with shimmied down the tower and also got eatin by the same goober pack of wolves... fantastic day so far. Oh yeah well I forgot to mention that the chair fell off of the cable and broke my leg. Then I penguined past the wolves and almost got ran over by a car at the bottom, but I survived so that’s nifty. I’ve been going to therapy twice a day everyday, so there’s that.

Yesterday was my worst....

I spent 10 minutes in front of a bunch of people trying to click on on top of this traverse.... I was getting tilted as fuck. I looked at my binding and saw the heel was allready clicked in smfh...

Later that day I was bombing a groomer, I hockey stopped. But caught an edge. My ski ripped out and I tomohawked.

Skiing with jerry friend, jerry friend snakes a nasty left hand turn and snipes my new wave ass swerving down the run. yard sale and slide down the run as he calls me an idiot. Decide to film instead of ski hard, standing at bottom of drop to get the clip and jerry friend wimps out and does't hit it. I ski away pissed only fopr my wallet to fall out of my pocket

I was on my way down for the last run. Maybe 11, 12 years old. I had just gotten my first cell phone. Dad calls and in a very angry tone tells me he is waiting to pick me up and I ned to hurry. I gotta pee. Every time I see a spot to turn in to the woods to piss I remember how pissed my dad sounded on the phone. Finally I'm almost at the base but I gotta pee. Im fumbling with my zipper trying to get a hold of my dong and just when I get the zipper down, waterworks. Piss all up and down my legs. I zip up and take off towards the car, still peeing. I think I cried when I got in the car.

Huh so how'd you know that it was a tib/fib compound fracture if he got eaten? ALso yea that would make a gr8 movie but also p scary lol
