Why can't Siver Voll flat 5?

I don't know how Siver is in the SLVSH Cup if he can't flat 5. Either Finland skiers suck or SLVSH is stupid. This might be the first time in SLVSH history that this has ever happened. Anyone agree?

Just cause he can’t rode 5 doesn’t mean he’s a shitty skier, siver is legit so insanely fucking good at skiing especially with rail combos. Have you even seen some of the fucked up rail combos he has put out, especially some of the ones at windells last summer.

If he called a sw lip 2 front swap front swap front 6 and colby didn't get it, is colby now expected to hike the rail until he has that trick mastered? No.

All honesty I thought that game was really weird, the vibes were no good and it felt like everyone was about to cry. I think OP is kinda right though in the respect that rod 5 is a pretty important trick and the fact that he couldn't even try it felt like a cop out.

At least he'd try it. I get sending jumps on camera is not ideal in comparison to rails.
However, I don't see why anyone-- you, me, or Siver-- wouldn't try to improve as a skier at every opportunity.
I think this is what separates the best from the rest.
I like Siver and the stuff he puts out, but to have to turn down a basic (relatively, I couldn't do that in years) trick on SLVSH is something I'd never expect from a pro.
Again, my statement stands, that there's never an excuse to not try to be better.

It is such a stock trick, I would personally advocate young skiers not learning it over more interesting rotations. They are inherently stylish and probably fun, but I've seen way too many. Siver is a dope skier, though he seemed a little off in this game. At the end of a long, I'm sure very cold game, it totally makes sense to play it safe. If you don't feel good about it, don't do it. Pro or not.

Its just a jock attitude. That's fine for some, but to act like "pro" status, (whatever the hell that means) somehow obligates skiers to learn every stock trick as baseline proof of worthiness is silly and undermines the freedom that draws most to the sport.

On one hand I get it. It's dark and cold - I'd probably be lazy and do the same. But on the other hand, why not? It's a pretty tiny jump and its also poppy, so it's perfect. Hard to imagine you'd do much worse than wash out or underrotate a little and have bit of a hip check. Or just be strategic - set a whack flip and see if you can wash it out to switch, and leave it up to the ref to give you the green light. Either way I have a bit of a bias, his skiing doesn't exactly thrill me in the first place.

This isn't a good comparison. A rodeo 5 isn't that hard of a trick especially compared to "sw lip 2 front swap front swap front 6

For real, some of these slvsh games are getting mad tense. Like I don't really love the slvsh cup ones as much as all the non slvsh cup ones if that makes sense. Theyre just more fun and playful without the pressure of moving on or something.
