SessionIt's nice that you guys reference all these super steezy pro skiers that ski great with no poles. You floppy clowns aren't them. 99% of you can't use and edge to even make a proper turn. So no poles just makes you look even shittier.
If you can’t use your edges to make a proper turn you shouldn’t be using poles at all.
So if anything it’s probably good these kids have stoped using poles. One of my go-to exercises/tips when someone asks me for skiing advice is to leave their poles at the top of the hill and go take some laps with their hands on their knees. It forces them to get their weight forward and use their edges.
I’ll go no poles from time to time partly because it is a good way refresher drill and mainly because mobing down the hill without poles is super fun.
No poles means no stops though, and ideally lots of mogul boosting
