I wanna hear some different powder skiing techniques you guys use? Some peeps use the pop, others slarve, some just straight jump and rotate. I wanna encorporate some new techniques without learning by sad, hands on experience (learned hard last year at Tahoe when my legs were straight up to the sky while my upper body was buried in snow haha).
I wear a lot of weighted material and get a backpack full of rocks, then I ski on my butt and go straight down, then I wake up in the emergency room and wait for the next big pow day to do it again
I’ve just started treating it like regular hardpack. If you have any reasonable amount of rocker, there’s no need to force it. Go a bit faster than your comfortable with and roll into a carve. Let the ski take ya round, then do it all again. I tend to get backseat in pow so I’ve been focusing on keeping good form and letting the rocker do the work. Speed is your friend in powda.
