working at ski camp?

since my parents are allowing me to apply to a boarding school in maine for next year where i'd get to ski everyday that costs lotta $$$$ i understand that they don't wana pay for camp this summer. But i still wana be able to go so I was thinking that since im 16 now, maybe i could work/ volinteer at one of the camps on either whilster or hood and I could ski for free. anyone ever tried anything like this before?

Not to be an asshole, but you have no chance. I have tried before and all have told me that you have to know people, and certain people. however, one or two suggested trying the Timberline lodge, it's near hood and would give you a job.

Yea i think you either have to be a pro and actually know the founders of the camps to be a coach, or have inside connections wiht the directors to be a digger. Would defintely be a sick job no matter the pay or anything like that

i dont know if digging would be that sick of a job dont they dig all day? ski like 1 day a week? just get a castodian job at some place and work nights .... and live out of you car....

most camps say that you have to be at least 18 to work there. i tried sooo hard to get a job at a few different camps for this summer, but i don't turn 18 til september so i got shot down

Being out there skiing every day, good or bad, just playing around with friends, with no contests or filming- that is the real spirit of skiing for me. that is why i started skiing, and if i lose those moments that is what will make me stop skiing.

wel windells says you can work there if your 16+ but just you wont get paid. and i've been going there for the last 2 years so maybe theyll respect that

One of my best friends is a semi-pro snowboarder with a bunch of sponsers and he couldn't even get a job at windells and he knows some people.

It's a dream job for any high school kid that rides and the lines are out the door for the positions. Just apply everywhere you may get lucky.

yea at windells you can be like a cilt all summer and you don't get paid and you have to buy your own ski pass, but at the end of the summer they give you money back for the ski pass. but you have to have a sick resume to do it and i think you have to be 17 or 18
