Candide 2.0 vs Edollo

I am 15 years old and am 5 foot 4 (163 cm). I am an advanced skier who can tackle any terrain or run. I always go on jumps on the sides of runs and go off of some 5-10 ft cliffs whenever I have the chance. Lately I have been going on some park jumps and am getting ready to learn some spins. I want to get into the freestyle skiing, not only in the park, I am also interested in doing off-piste freestyle off of natural features. I need some new all-mtn freestyle skis since I am too tall for my skinny previous skis. My dad has given me his old carving skis and they fit me perfectly but they are stiff and only 80mm underfoot.

I want to get a ski that is within 90-105 mm under foot and that is not stiff since I want to learn butters. At my local mountain we do not get much powder so I do not need a very wide ski. I want this ski to be decent all-mtn and good for butters and learning freestyle. I am not so interested in rails but more interested in jumps and spins. I also want it to be very playful so I can slush my turns. I was looking into the Faction Candide 2.0, and the Armada Edollo. I idolize both Candide and Henrik so I might have some bias towards these skis. What ski is a better option for my needs and what other skis do you recommend. Thank you!

I had almost the exact same needs in a ski as you and I ended up ordering the Candide 2.0 haven’t regretted my decision at all and can’t wait till I can finally use them.

If your looking for butter the Edollo will have much more of that than the candide. However for what your doing just starting off in the park and jumps the candide will have more stability on landings and such. The candide will be better at all mountain (or off-piste as you weirdos call it) than the Edollo which is a park hound built for rails, urban and jumps. You also mentioned that your mountain doesn’t get much powder if this is the case go with the slightly skinnier ski so you have more control. I’d go with the Edollo because likely sometime in the future you will get more into park. Or if you like faction skis more get the protegy 2.0 or the 1.0 since you don’t get as much pow where you live. Hopefully that helps.

I’ve been doing park for about 3 years and I’m confident on most rails and and spins up to a 540. The mountains where I live r probably getting some decent pow this year but I’ll still be hitting the park most days. Should I go with the candied or the edollo?
