don't need to be the same setting, but might help if it's similar.
what I mean is you keep the subject at the same spot in the frame, have maybe 10 clips to choose from, and then use 5-10 clips in the edit. not sure what sort of screen time each clip should have. could be anywhere from 15 frames to 4 seconds.
you could also try filming the same trick, locked off on a tripod at different times of the day. and then filtering through in the edit.
ex: lip blind 2
shoot early, mid day, sunset, and night
starts as morning, as the skier pops it match cuts to mid day, switches to sunset as the 2 is popped, switches to night as the skier lands.
this could be cool if the skier can be really consistent with their positioning and timing.
