The fact that guys like Ninja are now millionaire household names to kids from gaming, and a lot of us spent infinite amounts of summers as a teenager blazed as fuck gaming with nothing in return makes me a bit salty about my career choices.

Trust me, Ninja got incredibly lucky with the position he is in. I mean he spent like 17 hours a day playing games with nothing to show in return. He streamed for years with only a small amount of success until he ended up in the right place at the right time with Fortnite. Every kid wants to be a Fortnite streamer, a few years ago every kid wanted to be a minecraft youtuber. The competition is heavy.
And to OP, Stept isn't just a ski company anymore. Idk why you are mad about this, Stept is making money from this but they are also still making ski movies. I see no problem whatsoever with this. There is only so much growth you can do in the ski industry.
Stept Studios has has one of those nice looking websites but its lacking functionality. I went on the website to look for this Ninja video and couldn't find shit. I then googled Stept Studios "Ninja" and a bunch of porn popped up. I honestly don't care to go looking for this video for more than 2 minutes. They need to change up there website or at least include a link in their insta bio.
If you're curious why they would film with Ninja, let's look at who else is tagged in that post: Redbull, someone Stept has worked with quite a lot in the past. I'm sure if Ninja wasn't sponsored by RedBull this never would've happened.
Stept is out here working with one of the most "it" people of the moment. Good for them, their ski movies were always dope, and I'm sure a lot of us will remember them for that, but since they started moving in a different direction a few years ago good for them. Never knock the hustle, Stept is making money one way or another

Gotta say I support the changes. IMO they took the best route a ski production company could have taken. Life after pro skiing for a pro can only last for so long, and the gnarly shit that stept did backed by sponsors looks pretty damn good for brands considering them to market their product. So many people like to act like you can't do whatever the fuck you want. Saying fuck a desk job because you want to ski, skate, surf or whatever doesn't necessarily mean a life of financial insecurity if you know what you're doing and make connections.
Stept is bigger then it used too. They don't make just ski movies anymore they are a full on production company. They did Oakleys new commercials as well
Pretty unfair to just call Ninja "fortnite", sure he blew up the game and streams it every day, but the title of this thread should be STEPT x RED BULL
Professional gaming has been around a while, but more so blowing up with big sponsors like redbull and ESPN broadcasting them. My roommate used to watch gamers all the time in school and there's a huge audience for this kind of stuff; why the big bucks are coming in to sponsor and make money. I think it's fucking stupid to watch someone play video games, but you do you people.
The only beef I have it they call these sports. They're not. Don't try to argue. You're wrong.
