kyleisaskierThere was a big fiasco about this time last year with my home hill. Place has been in operation since 82 and the owner started a successful national parent company "peak resorts" from it. Problem is in 82 when the place started it was in basically woods and farmland but westward development created these giant ritzy suburbs that started to close in and suffocate it. The township that it's technically "in" wasn't even created until the late 90s but as these fuckheads moved in and built next to it, they began to get together to complain about traffic and crazy kids and whatnot. The city zoning and planning committee (made up my asshole residents and developers with special interests) has tried to shut them down multiple times and they got really close last year but a bunch of us got together and went to all the town hall meetings and fought it. I know how it feels to have your home hill be threatened that really sucks

theabortionatorUnfortunately there are a lot of places that are 1 or 2 bad seasons away from closing the doors.
Always stoked to see some open back up even though so many do not :(
We route for the little guys, there's just something about it. When the little mtns can bounce back or get reopened it's the best though.
Cheers to the small mom and pop places. Fuck yeahrrrr!
