What changed in your state? What do you think about it?
Big ones in Michigan were the legalization of recreational marijuana, automatic voter registration, and ending gerrymandering. I think all of those are pretty cool.

.MASSHOLE.And I answered saying we can't really say they would based off history. Pure conjecture isn't going to get us anywhere with this. If anything, looking at what the parties are doing and have done with regards to gerrymandering should present a clear(ish) picture of their stance on the issue.
The GOP based an entire platform around it. The Democrats are challenging district lines at both the state and national Supreme Court level while also opting to give the power to non-partisan commissions.
There's a much more in-depth post I could make arguing that the current geographic trends of the typically Democratic voters vs. the GOP voters would make gerrymandering impossible for the Democrats in most battleground states but I don't want to. It'd take way too long and require way too many graphs.
There are others out there who have done the same thing. Dave Wasserman probably has written on it somewhere.
.MASSHOLE.Yeah, that's not happening at a national level until there is a Democratic-majority in the Supreme Court.
The current SC will never overturn Citizens United which would be the first step needed to regulate donations.
It may happen at state levels if they can figure it out.
I know MA had a ballot question with regards to creating a citizens commission to consider and recommend potential amendments to the US Constitution to establish that corporations do NOT have the same Constitutional rights as humans.
The idea was created by American Promise, a national organization dedicated to overturning Citizens and they already have 19 states signaling support for similar amendments.
I doubt that will be effective but hey, it's better than nothing.

This is my home town after it was "redistricted"... GTFO with this "Gerrymandering is a Republican Problem". Gerrymandering is an American problem and until we have any honest people in power this bullshit will continue.
eheathYeah man... it's unfortunate, but everyone is in on it, so why would anyone change it ya know? It might take our generations entire lifetime to get back to a true democracy.
.MASSHOLE.What's your proposal to create a better system? You need to acknowledge demographic changes are going to happen and that they need to be accounted for.
-eREKTion-No more government.
DIRTYBUBBLEBecause that’s working out great in Somolia.
