What changed in your state? What do you think about it?
Big ones in Michigan were the legalization of recreational marijuana, automatic voter registration, and ending gerrymandering. I think all of those are pretty cool.

eheathUtah legalized medical marijuana, but the state is already trying to change the laws behind our backs... god damn mormons.
Otherwise Utah is a strong red state, my state wide votings is meaningless. The town of Park City approved a $48M bond so that no one will build huge hotels above main street, figured it would pass but its nice now that it's done.
Nice to see some balance in Congress, although I think the next 2 years of politics is going to be just as bad as the last two years.
Peteza_RollzI'm living in Michigan rn and every stone bag I know thinks prop 1 goes into effect an hour after the results and not in 10 days. Not to mention they're all under 21 and think they can walk into a Meijer passing a dab rig around. The upside is I know what to get my parents for Christmas.
faatasApparently California will have no daylight savings anymore, can't wait to bike to school in the dark :)

Profahoben_212How the fuck does that work.....is it going to be an hour later when I drive to truckee?
LonelyIt goes into effect in 10 days, but it's unlikely that you'll actually be able to buy in a store until 2020. Regulations have to be passed, business licensees have to be issued etc. It will be interesting to see how the handle minor in possesion of weed, now that it is legal recreational. Last year they passed a bill that made a MIP of alcohol a civil infraction instead of a misdemeanor. I doubt that MIP of weed will become only a civil though.
-eREKTion-No more daylight savings in Cali, bitches.
mystery3It's a long process but if it happens, which I strongly support, we'll stay on daylight savings time permanently and because California is pretty big I think Nevada as well as Oregon, Washington, and BC would follow suit.
Have you ever driven to Arizona? They don't participate in the time change silliness.
eheathActually jealous of this. I wish everyone could get on board with this.
roddy116I honestly dont understand daylight savings at all.

CLQMitt Romney isn't to bad, at least he has some integrity.
JP_JPRBG is in the hospital a two days after midterms... this begs for a conspiracy theory.

JAHpowThe blue "wave" turned into an 80 yr old with an enlarged prostate trying to pee.
The fact that Trump had the lowest approval rating going into a midterm of any modern US president and GAINED in the senate is an indication that this country is still very upset with the left. This election was actually more of a win for Republicans as they will probably hold the senate now till 2022.
.MASSHOLE.Oh jesus Christ. Do I really need to tell you why the Senate was an uphill battle for the Democrats from the start?
There were 35 open seats. 26 of them were held by Democrats. 10 of those 26 were held in states Trump won. Does that sound like good odds to take back the house? It's not. It's awful, especially when you consider that the more rural states (states Trump won) hold more Senate seats.
Don't believe me?

JAHpowSomeone's butthurt
CLQYeah and Texas almost turned blue. Like it was pretty fucking close for what people consider a die hard republican state. It only took some good ole republican gerrymandering and voter suppression to win senate seats.
.MASSHOLE.No, you're just an idiot who is parroting whatever the right-wing media tells you.
If you actually looked and read something beyond what Fox tells you you'd have known that any pundit worth anything knew this was an uphill battle for the Senate.
JAHpowHaha you're actually butthurt
.MASSHOLE.No, you're just spreading bullshit which is easily corrected.
And people who parrots bullshit like this without actually doing any critical thinking on their own deserves being called an idiot.
JAHpowHaha you're actually butthurt
LonelyIf you've got an actual argument beyond "your butthurt" let's hear it. No one hear is gonna develop their views any further that way.
JAHpowI don't have an argument, nor want to argue, in the first place. Butthurt McGee up there is the one who flipped his lid and wants to argue. This is NSG, and as I've said in other threads, nobody will ever change their mind on anything here whatsoever. Ever. So I'm not going to waste my time.
.MASSHOLE.But more importantly, numerous states are going to have Democrat-led state governments which will be able to redistrict their states which is HUGE.
.MASSHOLE.So you can call me butthurt mcgee or whatever the fuck you like, but you're making yourself look like an idiot when you are trying to argue against facts.
JAHpowHaha I'm literally not arguing at all. OP said discuss so I posted one single time regarding the election that wasn't even directed at anyone. Then you bust in like the Kool-Aid man foaming at the mouth. I really don't know what your problem is and you clearly have anger issues. All you had to say was, "Well, actually I believe you're wrong there and here's why--". Instead you think back to your asshole 101 class and start from there.
You'll never win a debate nor change anybody's mind. Not because you don't post facts and stats, which I think is perfectly fine and you should do, but because you're a fucking. Lunatic.
-eREKTion-Gerrymandering is always bad. Doesn't matter who's doing it.

DIRTYBUBBLE“I got called out on my bullshit but I’m too egotistical to admit that I’m wrong so I’m just gonna say everyone is butthurt”
.MASSHOLE.Well of course it's bad. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.
But hopefully the Democrats will be able to reverse the intense gerrymandering seen in many states that was implemented by the GOP.
-eREKTion-And you think that, given the chance and considering the contentious political climate, Democrats wouldn't Gerrymander to their benefit? The political system in this country is so fucked up, we have two terrible, dishonest parties run by fucking scumbags who don't give a fuck about democracy.
.MASSHOLE.So the "both parties do it" claim, which seems to be ever so popular these days with many people, is again inaccurate when examined closely. We can't assume both parties would do it because only one has actually done it to the extent where it has had national ramifications.
r00kie#abolishthe2partysystem
-eREKTion-I never said both party's do it, I asked if you thought the Dems would do it if they get the chance. I think they would, you have a graph though which is cool...
-eREKTion-#abolishthegovernment #abolishpoliticians
eheathWe just need to stop political corruption, the fact that it is legal to donate as much money as you want, tax free, to any politician for any reason is insane! Billionaires pad the pockets of people who will listen to their lobbying, its ruining our democracy and if we don't change it, we will suffer the consequences.
