Candide vs Black Ops

Hey stuck in a bit of a pickle here looking at skis for this season and have 2 options:

Basically looking at the Faction Candide 2.0 vs the Rossi Black Ops 98

A bit about myself: 23 living in Whistler and will be using these as my everyday ski I'd say I ski 75% all mountain (almost always not on groomers) and 25% park. I'm an aggressive but playful skier and have a set of BentChetlers for deeper days.

I already have the Candide's but haven'e mounted them and have been offered a great deal on the black ops so what should I go for?

Keep the Candides, 98 is too skinny for an every day shredder in Whis and won't really hold up on those semi deep days where you don't really want to whip out the Chets. 102 is still narrow enough that you'll be able to ride park assuming you aren't aiming for some future spin rail game.

I can put a vote in for the Candides, got a pair towards the end of last winter and really like them. My only issue with them is that I tend to overflex them on butters and at high speeds they don’t feel super stable but that’s down to the fact I got a tiny size and I’m way taller than your average. Get a good size and you’ll love it.

I can’t speak for candide’s cuz I’ve never skied them but I got a pair of black ops last season and they’re suuuper fun

I'd say do it if they were the normal black ops and not the 98's but since it'll be your daily at Whistler, I think sticking with the Candides will be your best bet

Thanks for the advice I'm leaning towards the candides but my only concern is I have heard about a lot of durability issues with them can anyone back this up?

Also to throw a spanner in the works I've been offered a set of Blizzard Rustler 10s. My only concern with those would be hitting rails in the park, how would theyou hold up?

Can't really speak much on the durability of Candide's but I will say the Rustler is more of a charger considering the layers of titanal within the ski.....that being said, any ski can be a rail ski if you're desperate

Candides are awesome for sure, but when I skied on the black ops 98 last year at the industry demo was kinda of blown away way different than my old foam core scratch blast days.

They changed the material a couple seasons ago and the durability issues have improved significantly. I own a pair of last years gold/black 2.0's and they've held up great with over 60 days on them skiing all mtn at Snowbird.

Mine are holding up pretty well, I got them second hand after a guy used them for a full season and the only damage was coreshots and a small chip in the sidewall. I’ve put another month on them and there’s nothing new to report.

Love my 2.0's. Haven't had any issues with durability. Although, if you want another ski to think about then the Kartel 98 is a beast

Trust me do NOT get 2.0s for whistler I mean the durability might have gotten better but I had the blue and white 2.0s and they snapped before that you could barely go over 2kmph before it started chattering. I have apair of Kartel 108s now and there the best skis I've ever skiied

Get the Black Ops if you aren't going to lose a lot of money with the candide. If you lose like a $100 i would just stick with the candide

I would go with the Black ops due to it being stiffer a little less wide but the stability makes up for it
