Looking to take advantage of my IKON this season with some car camping. Any suggestions for something good and warm under $200? Also, what specs should I be looking for? Is 20 degrees enough?
I got my marmot trestles 0 Long for like 130...pretty fucking warm and have never had a need to throw in a liner or anything. Comfy down to -10 wearing some clothes inside
When I sleep in my car for skiing I use the Teton Sports Celsius XL -32°C/-25°F. It's $90 on Amazon. It's like 10 pounds though so it's the most one dimensional bag I own - basically only useful for car camping in the winter. Coldest I've been in it was 5 degrees and I was comfortable, could definitely have gone lower. Don't use a 20 degree bag, you'll be miserable, that's a three season bag.
Like said....dont go with a 20....not nearly warm enough. It's just car camping, so you can go super bulky. I wouldnt worry about pack ability or anything.
Yep, I'd find the cheapest sub-zero bag you can get. Almost every time I've camped in the winter, I've been wishing I packed warmer stuff. For car-camping, I think it makes the most sense to get a cheap, bulky -10 or -20°F bag. For camping in the winter, I doubt you'll ever wish you had gotten something less warm.

Went ahead and ordered this off amazon for $89, should be comfy in the back of my Jeep with a memory foam pad.
zero degree bag + cheap fleece bag for a liner + sleep in baselayers w/ wool socks, that usually does it for me. I've also ran an electric heater blanket off a converter, that was $$. Also I have an 85lb fuzz heater
