Anybody else get annoyed by parks that dont have jump lines with same size jumps?

Maybe conditions? It’s good to keep the park sticks well waxed at all times. I also find that the difffernece in speed required between skis can be quite a bit

KilaTsunamiSounds like Big Boulder to me lol I remember they had a 3 in a row last year where u either had to skip the first or second kicker in order to get a nice launch on the 3rd one. its not that they got bigger, its just that the first jump was so steep it made landing a hassle. idk who all rides at BB but I think they wasted sooo much space with the "pro sized" park last year building like 5 MASSIVE kickers. (like Red Bull type big) that would get hit maybe once a month by like 3 semi pros. Very hyped to see how they set it all up this year tho .

T.L.It sounds like you just frequent some pretty bad jumps.

The entire purpose of a traditional jump line is that you're hitting larger and larger jumps in succession. The key to a good jump line is fine tuning them so that the larger landings (the in-run for the next jump) require a minimum amount of speed checks going into the next take off.

Places like mammoth who know what they're doing put a lot of time into getting their jumplines dialed. It's likely they were getting slightly bigger but that's another thing about a good jump line. To the rider, it seems effortless. It's actually the entire purpose of a park crew that tests features. If somethings not riding right, that information is supposed to make it's way to the cat operators to fix it asap.

T.L.I love what big boulder puts out 99% of the time but when you dedicate massive time, acreage, and resources for .05% of your customer base; at some point you have have to justify that from a good business standpoint. Ya gotta ask the question of whether or not that's the best use of those resources.

Its so small they might as well. They should nut up & embrace the niche. Do it UP like Big Bear CA and have LOTS of events/amateur competitions!! MORE LIVE MUSIC ACTS!! More team rider edits. DolanReloadedAlot of parks have jump lines that get bigger and bigger from one jump to the next. I cant stand this. I dont want to have to constantly be adjusting my speed to make sure im hitting the right speed on each jump; i just want a jump line where you know exactly how fast you need to go for the next one because you just hit the same size jump before it. Last time i was at mammoth they had a perfect jump line like this, every jump was the same size and hitting each one at the right speed was easy.
If a resort wants to have one final jump thats larger than the rest, thats fine, but do it on the moneybooter only; DONT have the entire god damn line of jumps get bigger and bigger. Im too old and lazy to have to stress out calculating how much speed i need to add from one kicker to the next.

Wear less baggy stuff. Less air resistance helps too! ;-)

SkiBum.It’s no surprise or new news that Peak Resorts and BB just suck at figuring out how to have a balance sheet that’s not in the red.

BB is the step child of the Mount Snow parks but probably better. They don’t get their balls held every day by management so they can do their own thing a bit better.

karlmarxpeople act like its so easy to have the perfect slope angle and snow to have a line with exactly the same size and shape of jumps. Thats not how mountainous terrain works, you are always limited in some ways by the mountain and the slope itself, you naturally gain speed going downhill. park crew aren't magicians. Most respected terrain parks have a pretty intuitive flow after a few runs practicing, and i for one really like a gradual progression in size. it allows you to work on new grabs or rotations on smaller jumps, and if that goes well, do something sick and go big at the bottom.

Its easier to remember a certain speed needed for every jump than it is to balance the amount of speed you need to gain vs how much you transfered from the last landing etc.. when the jumps are getting bigger and bigger.
If you dont believe its easier to gauge a single speed youre a retard and a towel
