Pre-season tune necessary?

I got a pair of Kastle FX 95s near the end of last season and only skied on it once late in March and it's been sitting in my room ever since. Is there any reason for me to get it tuned and waxed to start the season?

Id just give it a fresh coat of wax or two before the season starts. Unless you really jacked up your base or edge, those should be fine.

id agree, i'd def wax them but edge care isn't necessary right now unless you banged em up hard on something
if you don't have a wax kit (though you should if you ski much at all; they can be found cheap and it's so easy even i do it myself. and ski shops can charge way too much for a simple waxing) and taking them to a shop would be a pain/too expensive, don't worry about it, they'll be fine. but you should prefer to wax them at the beginning of the season and every few uses after that. plus the wax that comes on skis is good for storage but isn't always amazing for actual use. so waxing them straight out of the box or soon after isn't as crazy an idea as it might seem

keep in mind that waxing doesn't just make you go faster, it also cares for the bases and makes your glide more consistent, and makes initiating turns etc easier

Skip the shop tune and just do the wax. If you've got some tuning tools, at minimum you could sharpen your edges or remove burs (if any).
