Pilsbyyeah i know that there are specialty tools for it but thats not my point. i am curious if it works in a hotglue gun because that shits expensive man
weastcoastJust light the ptex stick up like a candle with a lighter of course. And let it drip in the area. Make sure you get a little soapy rag and clean the area out then dry it good, then have at it with the PTex. Worked well for me.
Pilsbynow before i get absolutely roasted i would like to let you guys know that i have not tried this and i am pretty sure it wouldn't work. but i am just really curious if anyone has tried it? I understand it probably does not get hot enough but it just seems plausible.
.Asain-SkiierFrom what I have learned working at a ski shop is for a last resort you can put some epoxy (two part) in the core shot then fll up the rest with ptex. But that is a last resort option.
amccahill93been trying to figure out what my favorite epoxy to use is, what do you recommend?
the rocks in montana are alive and migrate to the surface to bask in the sun and munch on skis
amccahill93Local ski shop growing up let me use all their tools and whatnot for free and run rampant in shop, learned to fix a core shot with their fancy base welder that never needed epoxy, and. Been in college the past year and got my own place this year and I'm tryna set up my tune shop in here. Gonna have to pick up some metal grip it seems
DominatorJacquesFor core shots and contacting edge repair metal grip is a must. You can use it for the total repair, but it's hard to scrape!
B.QuincySecond this working at a shop we metal grip most deep gashes, or core shots etc, if you haven't done it before can be a little tricky, then blend in a little ptex its usually 10-20 bucks at most shops

3oh3can i torch the metal grip similar to how you'd light a ptex candle and just drip it in? or should i really be using a proper iron for it?
DominatorJacquesNo. That would burn it. Then it's no good.
Use tools like I show in the video above. Like when waxing, you want no smoke!
3oh3thanks my man, watching the whole thing. i am really digging the wood burner. really helpful
