We have all been there, powder day and bottom of your ski pants rip and someone comes though with duct tape. What are your boot bag “must haves”, keeping the chatter going as I get stoked and start packing this seasons bag. What do you carry that’s out of the ordinary, multi tool, duct tape, extra gloves etc....
i always have extra goggles and gloves but sometimes pants and a jacket it its a really wet day
i also have hand warmers but not toe warmers cause those dont work
extra candy ( ex gummy life savers)
and finally a multi tool/ pocket knife and sometimes BC shovel to build stuff

Who has a boot bag with them when they go skiing? Can't you just keep all that stuff in the car, since that's where your boot bag will be anyways? I only use mine to take my boots as luggage when I fly.
I take my boot bag into lodge, put my boots on in there.

Leave mine in the car. At a basin it’s right off the bottom of Pali if you get there early. I’ve even swapped skis mid day

I'm pretty sure its a ski racer thing. I always see the racers at hood caring around their wack looking boot bags. Boot bags are for airplanes imo.

Not if your resort has a 40 minute gondy round trip from parking lot to top lodge.
And that doesn't even include the 30 minute walk to your car and back
I never been a racer, but I always bring my boot bag into the lodge. Maybe it’s an oldschooler thing. I like taking my time making sure my socks are pulled up right and boots are good. It’s also good for adding/removing layers. Extra googles and I always pack a six pack for after lunch and last chair.

I bet that smells nice. Do they actually have good places to sit in your lodge where people won't just run into you and try to kick your head when you bend over?

If it's a contest the racers are winning for sure. They have so much stuff on hill, boot bags, multiple pairs of skis, race gates, tools, pretty much everything but the party. Super important part of the day is when they parade down the hill with their gear. To be a cool girl you need to do the ski parade with a giant boot bag and an extra pair of skis on your shoulder.

The bottom of my boat fell off a few weeks back in shark infested waters. Luckily I had a can of flex seal to save the day!
Para cord, duct tape, grinder, spare lighters, p tex, razor blade, sunglasses, spare goggle lenses, extra gloves, gore tex shell for wet days, dry hoodie, spare socks, and a couple packs of ramen.
Changing my mind here. Boot bags actually seem like a good idea if you are flying or taking the bus a long ways. I just use an old shopping bag for that but I bet you could fit other good stuff in a boot bag like moar gummy worms. Just made the connection that op is going out of state to ski.

Yes! I am a 40 year old school teacher who takes around 10-12 day trips from CT to Killington (6hr round trip) with the once a year trip out west with the boys.

Extra goggles and gloves are a must on the west coast where it can get pretty wet, sometimes if it looks bad I just back a whole second set of ski gear. Also pocket snacks(Hard boiled egg, granola bars h20) and a pair of dry clothes for after that I just leave in the car.
- Multiple screwdrivers. Flatheads & shit
- Allen key set
- Electrical tape
- A cowbell (essential)
- Xtra gloves (cuz somebody always needs 'em)
- Xtra headphones

OregonDeadWho keeps their boots in a bag? Some bags are compact and the boots just clip onto the outside. It's convenient.

Hand warmers, toe warmers, extra gloves, extra lens, knife, cliff bar and bandages just in case
