I live in the some of the highest elevation in the midwest....which means i'd have about 10 seconds of flying before I get back to flat ground. Paramotors are a thing here but thats much more expensive.

I'd look up some schools, theres one in Soboba. I was fortunate enough to be taught by friends so can't give you a realistic answer.

Yea paramotors look like they'd be super fun with skis on.

Nice! I went to Tbilisi last year. Great city. Didn't make it skiing though since I was there in the fall.

My friends that were there for the whole winter taught myself and 5 other friends. Most were in the air within a day or two. I was a bit slower at first then my friend, but then it kind of clicked. This run is from my third day:

However, I hang glide, so I was used to the feeling of being in the air. Takes awhile for some people to get comfortable with that.

Easier to learn then paragliding imo as you have skis for the launch and landing. You need the right terrain though.
