I was most loyal to level 1 in my video buying days, but after refresh the soundtracks didnt really work for me. From high 5 to realtime the soundtracks seemed to be all about aesthetic melodies and really fresh sounds you hadnt heard before, but after that it seemed like Berman went more for crowd pleasers and mass appeal. Part of the enjoyment of buying a ski vid for me was that i knew i was gonna be shown 4-5 songs i couldnt get enough of.
They still threw some good stuff in later films like fm belfast “noise” on the kicker segment of sunny but it seemed like aesthetic songs like that got fewer and farther in between as time went on for L1P.
I would totally be down to buy more videos, but if the songs arent getting me psyched and energized ill just watch them once then throw them on the shelf to collect dust. There seems to be so much good content for free on youtube and vimeo its hard to bring myself to buy a 30$ video.
