K-Dot.Anyone have a review of these they could share?
i have them in 178 and from that link i copped 172s. my best tricks are 3s both ways, natty switch lip onto tubes, natty lip on, 2s out both ways natural.
the skis are moderately stiff. i have owned poachers in the past as a park/ all mountain and now i ride the nomad as a park all mountain and i think the stiffness of the 178 is pretty smack dab in the middle. poachers pretty gd stiff and nomads pretty gd soft.
they are listed as rocker camber rocker and while they definitely have a slight amount of early rise they ski much much longer than my nomads. granted i’ve never owned a full camber ski, these feel like they ski pretty long. as i said i sized down from 178 to 172 in my latest purchase (they straight tape very close to listed)
weight is nothing to write about, not overly light not overly heavy. no edge cracks in roughly 8-10 days of lapping a rope tow rails for like 4-6 hour sessions. having the slightest bit of delam underfoot on what looks like the inside back foot/ outside front foot edge. i’d say that might be from my rail technique not being very smooth, i tried to slide a lot of rails i wasn’t comfortable with this year and it lead to lots of really hard pop to make sure i didn’t catch my tips. i don’t butter very well but just standing still you can roll your weight over your tips pretty effortlessly (i’m 5’10 185).
Tbh i didn’t really notice the magne tr action but i haven’t skied these on anything more than rope tow park laps. i did feel like the magnetraction led to a more sticky feel on rails that aren’t in the best shape (rusted) but can 100% say i never thought that way on features that are well maintained/ sliding correctly.
ya, i have been having knee issues on my right (dominant knee) and switched to these out of necessity from my wets midway through the season, the stiffness feels awesome when you don’t land bolts, which is often for me, and i bought a second pair which tells ya i’m at least somewhat happy with their performance
