You don't need that much heat to ignite the ptex, a lighter will work fine. make sure you hit the spot that you're going to be dripping it in with some base cleaner before you start or it won't bond correctly. and clear it of any loose particles. It can also help to rough the spot up with a little sand paper. If you have any friend that work in a shop a ptex gun works MUCH better. And when you're done use a panzer file to level the spot out BEFORE you use a metal scraper
You want to hold the ptex candle close enough to the base/scraper while you’re dripping that the flame is blue. Orange flames will leave char if you’re using clear candles
