One Demo Binding on Multiple Skis?

Is it possible to get a second pair of rails for demo bindings, and just transfer the actual binding part between two skis? I have a pair of Attack 13 demos and was thinking about getting a second pair of skis, and was trying to figure out if there would be a way to grab just the rails so I can transfer my bindings between the two skis.

my guess is it is probably possible but i wouldn't want demo bindings mounted on all my skis

Yes but why? You'll still have to do a bunch of fiddling around to switch the bindings between skis. Unless someone is giving you the extra rails you probably won't end up saving a ton either. I guess if you are really tight on space for traveling it might make sense though.

That was mainly my goal was to save money. I figured a couple plates would be much cheaper than another binding... Space wasn’t an issue, and it would essentially be the difference between my hard-day skis and my pow skis, so I would only have to change it a few times a year.

The quick answer is yes you can do it.

But you will need to find someone to sell you just the plates and then have the knowledge to adjust your bindings every time to switch them, or pay a shop to do it but that negates any cost savings from not buying two bindings.

the other thing is switching between pow skis and hardpack skis is you’ll probably want a different set of brakes for each ski which also reduces your cost savings.

I’m friends w the local shop so that’s not an issue. Brakes are for my pow skis.. I would just need to find the plates

I believe this is one of those ideas that sounds good on paper but in real life will be a pain in the ass. I'd figure out how much money would you'd be saving. Then I'd ask if that amount of money is really worth your time.

Binding manufacturers really dont sell or release extra plates for demo bindings for this exact reason - going to be hard to find I bet.

Just get Binding Freedom inserts and non-demo track bindings - less things to go wrong.

This is like how Blister Gear Review functions every day haha. It's really not a big deal if you have the right parts. Sort of a pain on a pow morning when you forgot to swap your bindings the night before, but still a solid move. Also great if you want to bring a bunch of skis on a plane and still get under the weight limit.

Personally I wouldn’t due to me being ocd about the perfect setup but if you don’t mind a bit taller stack height I feel like everyone is making it sound bad.. super easy to learn to adjust bindings so if you want to go for it

look into cast touring. they have an interesting system for switching 1 pair of bindings to multiple skis

if you've got a good relationship with your local shop that stocks tyrolia ask them if they can get the plates & screws from their local tyrolia rep, or if they have any plates & screws around they can give/sell you, as they do provide spares for all their bindings just not as normal retail aftermarket.
