I'm curious the amount of money I would need to work 2 weeks in retail during the holiday season without quitting or ending up in a mental hospital.

I'm not sure even $5k would cover the damage done by looping christmas albums being played all day everyday. Somebody should do a study. "The True Cost Of Being Festive During The Holiday Season"

I worked at Target when I was in college and there's some wild people out there, man. I remember one day when I was cashiering, a lady asked me where the people in front of her had gotten the milk they bought. I told her that it was along the back wall of our grocery section. She said, "There's no grocery section in Target". This Target had a huge grocery section it was like half the fucking store, so I said "Yes ma'am we do, it's right down there". She just snapped at me and said "Listen, I've been coming here for 10 years and there's no grocery section at this Target." That's when I gave up on life, "Have a great day, ma'am."

Some people are fucking hopeless. It's nice when you run into these dumb fucks outside of work. Well not nice but better. At least you can fuck with them and get them riled up.

The worst for me were the senile old people, we had some mid-day regulars who were just straight-up out of their minds. They'd come in twice a week, forget where the adult diapers were, forget their pin at checkout, and then each and every one of them would take out their car keys and drive off. I'm terrified knowing that these people are out on the roads.

I used to work in a pharmacy. People are so, so fucking stupid and rude. It's amazing. And what's intriguing is these people are medicating themselves, whether it be xanax or cholesterol drugs, or even worse stuff like insulin that will quickly cause an acute issue if they fuck it up. If you think about it, you got people driving around on however many xanax they felt like they needed this morning mixed with whatever else they decided to shove down their throat.

Also the lengths people go to to get us to give them controlled substances when we shouldn't... It's entertaining. I've heard pretty much every excuse ever about why we should fill their shit early or fill it at all. Then we get bitched at for not filling, like, illegally large amounts of oxy, expired or too early scripts, or stuff for people filling controlled substances at like ten different pharmacies from five different doctors. Go complain to the DEA. I didn't make these rules.
