Should I worry about being drug tested if I'm working at timberline

Just got a job at timberline. Does anyone know if they drug test you?

Probly not unless you drive a shuttle or work heavy equipment around people. Even the groomers at most resorts dont get tested. Ive always wondered if it would be fun to groom runs at night. The people ive met who do it seem to be happy.

Every big mountain needs groomers every season. Low pay. Weird hours. If you’re not a complete moron you can probably land a grooming job these days

I dont think you can walk right into being a groomer. I think you gotta start with bobcats shoveling snow and shit. But from my exp if youve been a groomer for 10 yrs youre making well over 20 an hour. You have to know what your doing tho. Its not just something you pick up in 10 minutes.

I hired groomers with no experience and a good head on their shoulders and most worked out great. Give it a shot. Worst they say is no.

And $20/hr for grooming. Maybe 1 or 2 a crew is that high. Welcome to ski biz...pay sucks.

1.Do snowmaking
2. Dont suck at your job
3. Make friends with ir at least meet some of the groomers (ride alongs dont hurt)
4. Mention that you want to stay employed after snowmaking and interested in grooming
5. Boom, send errrr

I don't know if any that do randoms. A few test at start of employment. Some everyone, some randomly.

Almost every place drug tests if you get hurt at work.

If you're being lawlessly blatantat work you could get called in as well.

I worked at Timberline this summer. You might get fired for NOT doing drugs.

you can.
obviously you can't learn it in 10 minutes but a day or two of practice with someone who knows how to drive and you're fine freegrooming easy runs.

Lmaoo pretty sure you are required to be on drugs to work at T-Line. They would hire a crackhead if he said he could work 5 days a week on the night crew.

Timberline doesn't have snowmaking so this doesn't really work for OP, but anywhere else it'd work.

I didnt even know that but that blows. That's a good way to do it for anyonewho has the option. Easiest way to get fasttracked into it.

Also options are vail in CO. They hire lots of gnoobs because massive crew.

Vail for sure will hire just about anyone with a pulse and passes a background check. Breck has similar size grooming crew and same deal.

Timberline is a pretty chill resort to work at, it has enough oversight to operate effectively for both guests and employees but not too much oversight.. so it is pretty lenient on some things

Now Skibowl on the other hand.. that place is wild! One of the coolest experiences I had working on Hood. It’s basically a mom and pops resort, they hire just about anyone... I have heard rumors (not confirmed) that liftees get away with fucking on the job there.

Overall tho, Yea Tline is chill so long as you can do your job and have basic interactions with the guests!

not that this is wild or anything, but I was skiing TLine around last Christmas and I got a call from my lil bro (he's an instructor) that ski bowl was slammed and desperately needed more instructors that afternoon/into the night, so I showed up with zero training or even association with Ski Bowl besides my brother vouching, tossed a random employees coat on over my big camo bibs & twin tips and was teaching a family lesson less than 5 min later. They don't give a fuck there. Also shredding New Years Eve @ Ski Bowl is a blast
