Replying to ON3P Kartel 108 vs. Magnus 102
Whats up NS? The time has come for me to cave and finally buy a new pair of skis (after 6 years) so I'm going all out and buying a new pair of 18/19 ON3Ps. The two I'm debating between are the 186 Kartel 108's and the 186 Magnus 102's.
Little bit of info about myself; I'm 6'-0" , 180 lbs, and an advanced skier. I ski about 75% park, 25% groomers, with the occasional day spent in the woods. I live out in Mass but ski Killington or Mt. Snow mostly, and usually get about 5 days out west each season. My last two pairs of skis have been armada T-halls, 176 and 181, both mounted at true center.
I'm looking for a wider ski that will rip through the park, specifically hold up on jumps and not wash out on landings, but also handle the rest of the mountain well and be able to float a bit in pow. I like the Kartel's stiffness and ability to charge around the entire mountain, but I am a little hesitant on seeing that factory rec. is -5 cm. On the other hand, I like the closer to center mounted, truer park ski, Magnus - but im not sure in its ability to hold up outside of the park.
Does anyone have any input on what ski would be a better fit for me? Ive read tons of reviews online, including blistergear's which was really helpful, but just wanted to see if anyone else had ridden them.
Thanks!!!
