I’ve noticed that literally any pro skier in the freestyle discipline can practice their spins on a tramp. I’ve also noticed a noticebable connection between freestyle skiers and gymnasts or acrobats on trampoline.
Do pros have background skills in gymnastics or some subset of that?
This became relevant to me as I have been spending the last few months on trampolines. Flips and spins on a linear axis are not a problem for me, the real enigma is turning on numerous axises at the same time.
Am I missing some kind of formal training? The only way I can think of figuring out any kind of off axis rotational trick is by throwing myself in the air until I find something that works consistently and the mirroring it. How did you guys get your awareness in these tricks?
Inb4 this should be on the trick tip cult
TLDR do I need to be a gymnast to figure out how to rotate on multiple axises? Otherwise, how do I figure it out?
