I started skiing again last year so I'm not nearly as good as I once was and because of that, I am beating the shit out of my skis in the park. I bought 2018 K2 Domains w/ Attack 13s and mounted them true center for this (they were like $300 for the pair... if that). However, they suck everywhere else and aren't amazing in the park. They are fine for relearning basic rail tricks though and I already blew them apart basically because I am rough on them as I keep crashing and catching edges like a gaper, so I am happy I bought them instead of something nicer at the time. Because of this, I would like to buy a pair of nicer skis and bindings for the rest of the mountain and some park. I don't plan on using them on a lot of rail but I will be doing a lot of jibbing around the rest of the resort and doing a lot of jumps and shit. Also, I want to become very confident at riding switch everywhere, flowing around without poles, buttering, pressing, doing hand drags, lazyboys, etc. The skis should be able to handle "midwest powder" on snowy days but they don't need to be really wide. I'd say these would be for 60% park and 40% rest of the mountain but the following season they will be almost 100% park.
I am 5'11" and 180lbs, a pretty good skier and was once really good but I really need to relearn the style and trick side of things (especially rails and switch shit), won't use poles a ton, and normally ride true center.
I was looking at Line Blend 2018s or 2019s (are the 2019s worth $100-200 more..?), ON3P Kartels (I assume 96 would be better than 108 for my use?), HG Skis x Tall T Productions Keegan Kilbride 2018 Skis, and I was wondering if anything by Vishnu would be good for my needs? I am also open to other brands such as J Skis, Armada, etc.
Depending on the ski you recommend, what size should I get and where should I mount them?
As far as bindings go, I'm probably getting Attack 13s again since I can get them for like $150 brand new or I will splurge on Look Pivot 14s but Idk if they are worth twice the cost and the extra weight.
Sorry for the long unformatted post. At work and threw it together quick. Keep in mind I have my dead center mounted Domains for rails for now. If center mounted would still work well in this situation though I would love to continue rocking them but I'm afraid of speed wobble and lack of control/speed.
Thanks!
