What is it with edits having 30+ second intros and then only having a small number of tricks performed? This is especially prevalent in park edits nowadays.

I feel like it's the opposite for me-- seems like lame ass b roll isn't as common. and I love it

It makes sense from the skiers point of view. Lots of b roll means less shots meaning you can make an edit in a day rather than a week. More edits mean more views.

I think its gotten a little bit better. 5 years ago every edit was a kid showing how much of a gangster they are, then do a few 270 on and a couple of Kfeds and a crappy 180, then back to portray themselves as a gangster again.

when i think 2010 i think about kids trying to show how cool they are with some layers of 9xl tall tees and doing gang signs then having a shot of a lip to sw then another gestureshot.
i didn't watch many edits before 2014 ish, when i really started progressing. all i watched before that was the older guys at my local.

Yeah for sure man, I still adopt the somewhat "baggy" clothing style because I appreciate the cleaner style you get from hiding micro movements, but I'll admit it's pretty wack especially when you hit the tall-t/xxxxxl clothing style.

5 years ago you and I definitely would've gotten hate but I feel these days people are realizing that having some kid pretending to be gangster and hood, blasting rap music in his edit while sliding around at a multi million dollar ski resort is kinda ridiculous.

There's a few exceptions I'll let go but the average white skier kid probably shouldn't be waving around bananas acting like he grew up selling crack in the hood. Not gonna stop anyone tho if they want to go for it...

Personally I like b roll since edits with shot after shot after shot feel repetitive and the filler makes it more cinematic imo.

Also gives some creativity.

Maybe I've watched too many edits and I like seeing something different tho

I haven't seen an edit that shows 9 min of smo mo hiking followed by a rail shot falling off early in a while. On insta, edits tend to have a higher ratio of shots to b roll but feel free to link an example of what you mean.

I don't mind b - roll in general. But when. It's 30 seconds of a minute and a half edit it's pretty cringe.

I personally think the b-roll is dope to an extent. After 15 or more seconds of Snapchat college party clips I’d definitely get bored.
