ATTENTION MT HOOD/PORTLAND PPL

Yo, I'm a freshman at LC college with no car living in Portland, but I'm really tryna ski Hood on the weekends. I've got buddies that will ski Meadows with me but I kind of want to go with the fusion pass. That way I can ski Timberline + Ski Bowl. I'm a park rat but I also want to explore Hood as I'm used to Minnesota skiing.
I'll probably only be able to ski once a week, sat or sun. Trying to get the best bang for my buck. Sub $400 seems like a good deal for Fusion.
Recommendations? You Hood locals know better than I do.
Once again I'm a park rat who also wants to get a taste of big mountain skiing.
Fusion Pass? Meadows Pass?
Also, if anyone who lives in Portland is tryna link up and shred I will def donate some gas $$.

Outside of the park you will get tired of T-line real fast. And Ski Bowl can be real hit or miss. If you have friends that will go to Meadows then the terrain available shits on the rest of the ski areas on Hood.

Meadows stepped up their big park last year and it was pretty decent when it was sunny. Good Timberline terrain takes a lot of skiing to find, but it’s there. When skibowl is mediocre 70% of the time, but it’s really fun when it’s good.

Fusion is by far the best deal especially if you can get the student or youth discount. It is possible to take the bus all the way to Timberline with no car. It takes planning but people do it. You will most likely want to make friends and hitch rides but the bus is there if you can't line anything up.

Timberline and Skibowl have the best parks and the terrain is just as fun as Meadows. At each of these places it's all about finding your lines that are fun for you. I have my lines at Timberline and Skibowl and I will never get tired of skiing there. Don't get me wrong Meadows is super fun but if you like skiing weekends Meadows gets super packed and there is a big chance of a traffic jam or whatever. It's so nice to be able to get out of traffic and ride skibowl or just take the bus to Timberline from Govy and avoid the parking mess.

Fusion Pass is what you want. You get two new resorts to explore. Ski bowl for pow days. T-Line for the other days. Meadows just stepped up their park, but T-Line has had it dialed down for years. You said park rat twice so you want the best park. T-Line is just that. They get events and pros coming through so they will occasionally have some insane features. I will be getting the spring pass at T-Line cuz its the shit.

Not sure how financially viable this is and I've never skied meadows. But could you ski meadows during the winter and then get a spring or summer pass for t-line? Honestly seems like the best of both worlds when you can get good terrain at meadows when there is good snow and then a great park when the normal skiing isn't the greatest. I know summer passes are like $900 dollars which is gnarly so maybe this isn't the best option but I'll still throw it out there.

I ski park pretty exclusively but I stick to meadows for the most part. Don't get me wrong timberline can have somewhat better parks but meadows has been quickly closing that gap. I ski meadows because the terrain is so much better. You can rip some pretty sweet lines on the way to the park and on pow days there are cliffs for days. Hmu if you wanna shred meadows sometime, I'll be driving up there more days than not.

Lived in Portland for a year and did the same thing. Bought the fusion pass and got really lucky with a sick snow year so ski bowl was fuckin epic. Best part was I would work and take classes till 3:00 and then drive up and could shred ski bowl from like 5:00 till 10. Also the rope tow rail park is so much fun when the snow isn’t great on upper bowl. I honestly didn’t ski much at timberline till the spring because I had a blast at skibowl, but again I got really lucky with a good snow year.

That would be the best, yeah. Not sure if that is within my budget though. Plus I feel like I wouldn't take full advantage of that price tag. I could possibly get a 5-day pass for Meadows (which is still like $300) as well as the fusion pass. I've got to decide if I want/am able to spend that amount.

More like $150 or $160. That's what it was last year. Meadows will be about the same. Spring is when there is the most and best snow but the biggest crowds come around the holidays- presidents day and really are dwindling by spring break.

Meadows has a spring pass as well? Damn, maybe I'll just chill until springtime. I'm going back to the Midwest from December 20-Jan 20 where I'll be skiing at my old local. I could wait until I get back from the midwest before skiing Hood? Sounds like it would save me some big bucks.

Alright everybody shut the fuck up, also being a broke 18 year old park rat that’s stuck on mt hood, here’s the deal. Get a FUSION PASS. You ride conways till 3:30 then you ski your ass down the glade trail and ride skibowl rope tow till they kick you out at 11 at night. If it’s a POW day you ride skibowl all day long for the best terrain on hood. Plus all the racers go to meadows and nobody likes them and they have 45min lift liness and the parks are shit besides the big one that opens 1 time a year.

Yo thanks for the input dude, much appreciated. I don't think Imma be able to ski much until after the end of January so I think imma go with the spring pass at t-line. Sounds like ski bowl is a good place as well. If I find out I have the chance to ski more before winter holidays ill cop fusion.

Meadows is always fucked busy on the weekends. If you only have a day or two per week to ski, then I would go with fusion and just stack lapzz
