JohnJonszYour biggest wildlife threat in the wilderness is marmots imo. Those aggressive bastards are hungry thieves especially late winter. They’re really good at finding your food and chewing through packs even straps. Anything salty. So even if you’re not worried about bears, you should take similar precautions with food storage
GodI love this thread! The most dangerous thing you’ll encounter in the woods In the winter is a moose. You might want to watch out for coyotes though, I was doing a fast woods run in Utah a few years ago and I popped around a pine tree and almost skewered a terrified coyote. It’s only happened to me once but now I like to refer to them as mobile moguls.
