Replying to messed up thumb...need help...

ok i messed up my metacarpophalangeal ligament haha yeah...and i went to the doctor and stuff and i can move my thumb and it HAS been getting better...i know he is a doctor but im trying to avoid surgery....but anyways he said it was torn and i dont know if i believe it because i can move my thumb and it has been becoming more mobile since when it happened...has this happened to anyone
