JoeF2661Dont do it dude. That's how it starts. Next thing you know you'll throw your poles in the trash, wear xxxxl hoodies, and be listening to mumble rappers.
BigPurpleSkiSuitPoles are already in the trash, it's too late for me

BigPurpleSkiSuitAlright, I will learn rails this season

theabortionatorWas going to post this. Wtf OP? I feel like my life is a lie
BigPurpleSkiSuitSo it's coming up on ski season here, and I had just traveled back east to see my family, my mom specifically since her diagnosis with cancer. It sucks, but this thread isn't about that and the best way to deal with any tragedy is to keep moving forward with your life and keep grinding. What this thread is about is my name. I'd like to think quite a few of you have come to notice me since I post a lot and generally contribute somewhat decent material to threads, and I don't know if I should change it at all.
When I went back east to my old house, I found an even bigger goretex ski suit hanging in the closet that my dad said I could have. It's bright red though, and a bit better quality. I'm considering wearing that for most of this season, and that means that those of you who ski snowbird won't recognize me by my usual purple/green ski suit if I do. This thread is about whether or not I should wear the red or the purple this year and if I wear red, should I change my name on here too? I figure this is as good a poll as any
TLDR: I found another, slightly better quality ski suit which is red, should I wear it, and if so, should I change my name on here and what should my new name be?
That's the post from my other thread, entitled: the most important thread I've ever made. It has pics of both suits. Last year I wore the purple
theabortionatorI'm not mad though, I just don't like being lied to
BigPurpleSkiSuitI wore this all last season. Not lying

eheathYou ski alta/bird every day in a one piece and no poles? It's always beyond me that people ski around the mountain without poles, clothing is one thing but poles are pretty essential to proper ski technique.
BigPurpleSkiSuitI ski the bird, not so much alta. I dont like poles because I almost lost my face to one last year. Now that I have longer skis I'm thinking about bringing them back. Last year I landed kind of crooked off the blackjack hit and was pretzeling my torso to compensate, my pole landed in between my skis and missed my teeth and nose by a very thin margin. Since i was learning to spin and I figured that could happen again i decided to drop the poles for the remainder of last season. I also find having poles locks my shoulders downhill whereas without them skiing is a lot more surfy and it opens my mind
CLQI'm a pretty shit skier but don't you want to have shoulders/torso locked downhill?

BigPurpleSkiSuitI mean for spinning. As soon as I dropped the poles I could 180, with the poles I felt super locked up like I couldn't set a spin at all. Also felt much more comfortable flipping around to ski switch
Young_IMPCI’m super late, but try shortening your poles. Lets you have the technique when you’re in an aggressive stance but doesn’t get in the way otherwise.
