Symmetrical Skis?

So, I am in the market for a new pair of skis this year. I couldn't help but notice a trend of disappearing symmetrical skis? Anyone else notice this? I have an affection for riding switch anyone have a technical opinion on the matter?

This happened in like 2012

Symmetrical skis are pointless for 99% of skiers. And honestly, I like the switch carving of non-symmetrical skis better.

Yeah, I feel like more of a marketing gimmick than an actual thing, I don't know enough about the technical side but other than swing weight is the same I can't see any real benefit. Most Park skis are very close to symmetrical, but I can't imagine they carve the same switch as our body position is quite different.

Liberty Transfers are still symmetrical. My favorite park ski out right now.

I miss symmetrical skis, elliptical side cut is the best

vishnus are the only symmetrical skis ive ridden. carving fakie is like, pretty noticably different on them than on other skis, but once you get used to it it does feel pretty good. i still prefer directional twins though i think, they feel like riding the same ski going backwards rather than riding backwards on forwards skis. i hope that makes sense
