Sorry I live in Canada and won’t be able to offer any rides but that’s sick dude I’m stoked for you! Are you buying skis and boots or just gonna rent stuff until you get a feel for it?

Damn dude. That's a tall order for a ride from St. George to Salt Lake. I think your best bet, especially if you are learning how to ski, would be Brian Head up near Cedar City. Its about 4 hours closer, and is actually a really fun mountain to explore.

5 hour commute to skiing is ridiculous. You have to leave your house by 4am and you wont get back until 9pm. Thats a really big day. I do this occasionally, but its not something you want to do every weekend. You need to find a place closer if you want to shred on a regular basis.
For starters, a few weekends a year could do. Finding something closer would be ideal because Utah is sick and has tons of mountains. Driving 10hrs a day/weekend has a chance of ruining the fun. Unless you really really like driving

5 Hours is a hella long commute.
You could probably go Cross Country Skiing in places near St George if you dont get to SLC

Yeah I would just go to brain head instead. Especially since you are just learning that resort will be plenty for you.

5 hours is easily doable for a weekend.
I do it every weekend .
-drive to the mountain on friday night. Sleep in car friday and saturday nights.
Drive home sunday.
I often do a sneaky day trip too, but they're fucked.
All times are Eastern (-5)
