Replying to Kartel, Meridian, MSP, or Nomad
Hey all I'm 5'9, 155 lbs, 23yo, advanced/expert and looking to buy an american made wider ski (100-110) to use out west for an Alta/Jackson/Big Sky trip to complement my Kastle fx95 which I use in Vermont and shallow western days. Got it narrowed down to the On3p Kartel 108, Moment Meridian 107, 4frnt MSP 107, and Icelantic Nomad 105 and Pioneer 109(mostly just considering American/Canadian made). I'm looking for something that's on the playful side and can thrive pivoting in the trees and on Jackson side country but I still want to be able to charge on high alpine terrain. I'm not jumping off cliffs or anything but I'm definitely trying to hit alta chutes and big couloir.
Should I be worried about driving the Meridian with full rocker? Do you think the Nomads may lack responsiveness and too park oriented? While I like to jib a bit on the natural terrain I'm not looking for a park ski. Also not gonna pretend like the topsheets aren't influencing my decision (Nomad design is so dope).
Anyone have any experience or thoughts on these? Any input is appreciated thanks folks.
