Replying to Almost tore my ACL last spring
Soo as u can tell, I almost managed to tore my ACL from my right knee. I fucked up a cork 3, landed backseat and my skis got caught in the slush, I fell to the left while spinning to the right with my leg in a 90 degree-ish angle still stuck in the snow. Only then did my bindings release and I just slid down to the bottom of the landing. Got up, couldn't really put any weight on the leg, thought "just a lil crash, I think im alright" and skied the rest of the day (1-2 hours). My dad drove me home, which is an hour away, and when I got there my knee was already so swollen and I couldn't really walk. 6 days after the crash I went to see a doc and he said something like "its prolly nothing, come back later if needed." He didn't even fucking let me tell the story and how it bent etc... He kept talking over me whenever I tried to tell the details. I was legit pissed and still am.
2 months passed, went to see another doc and that time there were 2 different docs that took a look at my knee (the other one was new). They said my ACL just overstretched (Idk the right words for injuries since English isn't my native language). and I'm most likely gonna be good. They gave me exercises to do but they didn't do shit. I got sent to physiotherapy and went there 2 months later, last month. (I was too busy at summer). Finally feeling like it's getting better and I'm starting to see hope, although my knee still feels pretty bad after running or doing 1v1's/2v2's/u name it in basketball. It really blows if I wont be able to ski the same way as I used to. Just got my license this year and took the chance to move to my own crib which is 30 minutes closer to the resort! "Luckily" the slopes here open in like 3 months so I still have time to get my knee strong.
Just wanted to share this here. Don't fuck up your cork 3s aighht
