Best skis to use in Corbet's?

Pretty self explanatory, what kind of skis are best to use in Corbet's? Skis that are light and can pivot really well so you can make those hop turns or really stable hard chargers? Any examples?

well are you trying to get down it or air it like a champ? I would also think it would depend on the conditions for ski of choice.

It would be somewhat "self-explanatory" except you failed to give us any information about what kind of ski will suit your needs.
How big are you?
Where do you ski?
What type of skiing? ie: 25% groomers, 50% off piste, 25% park, something like that.
What skis do you have or have you used that you like or dislike and why?

Give us more info and we'll give you options. Volkl racetiger UVO are really hard chargers, they have some nice ones with race plates, bindings all set to run out of the box.

I'm 5'9", 155lbs. Advanced/expert skier with most of my experience in Vermont, but I've had a few trips out to Big Sky and Snowbird. I bought my first pair end of last season on sale, kastle fx95 hp, and only got a day to ski on it in West Virginia so wasn't a great test, but I enjoyed them and know what they're for, charging fast. They were meant to be my one ski quiver that I could use out east every day and could still hold their own out west on the three trips I'm doing this season, but I'm realizing that I could probably do with something wider (plus I'm super weak to all the new ski guides coming out) for day with more thatn 6" overnight. I figure the kastles will sill hold their own charging down steep high alpine on piste but I wanted another pair to compliment them that's maybe a bit more playful, lighter, and could pivot in the trees and handle some Jackson sidecountry. I'm pretty much only considering american indie skis at this point like moment, on3p, icelantic etc.

Sorta diverged from my original quest but I'd appreciate any input.

why would you base your ski choice on a single trail that you will probably at most ski a handful of times a season

I wasn't, I was just interested in what kind of ski would be ideal for that kind of run. I was not using that as criteria for a ski purchase.

I thought he was looking for skis from Corbett's, assumed he was Canadian and didn't want to pay exorbitant shipping costs.

honestly if you plan on creeping in and doing the small drop, instead of airing it like a fucking badass, any ski below a 184 length is ideal. a long ski makes it super hard to creep into the narrow area, as a couple of my buddies had troubles with this as their skis were long and made it quite awkward to creep down there and do the small 5 to 8 foot drop. short length makes it easier to creep with confidence instead of jamming urself in there at a weird angle and scaring yourself because your skis are too long.

Depends on how the cornice is, but sometimes Corbet's can be skied in one big left turn while hardly leaving the ground. Start high skiers left, doesn't matter what skis you have.

You can get down the goat path on any length skis you want, I did it on some 191s last year, yes it was easier on my other skis, but the easiest entrance is honestly the fast one.

Also corbets isn’t narrow by any means, no need to hop turn anywhere. You can link turns all the way down. Or like most people get caugh By the rut all the jerries make and tomahawk down the rest.

I've never been to Jackson, how big is the cornice? Is it a ~30ft air in?

it can be 30, Kinda depends what time of year, earlier in the season its smaller because the cornice hasn't built up yet. Around the kings and queens event it was probably 20 if you just bomb dropped off the edge, way bigger with how fast they were going in. Later in the season it can get huge, big enough no one really jumps straight in.

theres airs in on the left and the right side that are mellower, a lot better option if you get there before the rut at the bottom starts to form.

The ones in your garage. Idk man, I feel like sometimes we get to trapped and care about ski technology so much that we base decisions and what to do with what skis you have. Just because you got awesome Moments or on3p doesnt mean you cant charge corbett's or the palisades with some 10 year old k2 with a 98 width.

I Think the Kartel 108s would be a sick ski. That being said a ski for it a 100+ Blizzard would make an alright ski for almost any condition moderately stiff, short turn radius moderately light I'd say that more of a hard charger but depends on your style too you like a twin more of a carver.
