Arv 96ti Size

I'm looking to get the Arv 96ti but am very unsure about which size to get. I am 180cm tall and am looking at the 177 and the 184. As they are rockered I was opting for the 184, however I have previously been on thinner skis that were 176 tall so I'm not sure whether 184 is too tall.

My focus lies more on All Mountain performance than Park performance. Would the 184 be too tall to use in the park a litte? All help appreciated.

My 177 ARVs measure out at 174.8. So the 184 is actually going to measure around a 181. You should almost certainly get the 184s, unless you're super skinny or fairly new to skiing.

unless you def prefer shorter skis, yes def 184 especially since you are leaning toward all mtn vs park. either way is def fine but i'd def go 184. sick skis

Like OP, my height is 180cm (not growing anymore), I'm 145lbs. I'm on the fence between 177 and 184 for the regular ARV 96, not TI. My old 171 AR7 measure out to be exactly 171. If the ARV 184 is more like a 181, I think that's an easy decision. A true 184 makes me slightly hesitant. I ski 60/40 all-mtn/park. Definitely want longer than my current 171s. Suggestions?

I can't tell you if the current model measures true or not but id say that's easy, go with the 177s. You're dead center between the 2 sizes, and are light (big factor) for your height, are leaning toward the shorter size, and it's only a 3cm difference. Go with your gut on this one

They run a bit short. In reality you are talking about 175 vs around 181.5/182. At the end of the day it's personal preference, you could ride either. For your height, I'd say 184, for your weight I'd say 177. Basically, if in the park ski you like to spin a lot (or want to learn), go 177. If it's more of an all mountain ski with some mellow park days, I'd go 184 and enjoy the extra stability. Where are you riding for reference?

100% agree and thank you very much for the real life measurement

one thing i would emphasize though is that i think in situations like this, the light weight of the rider should probably take priority over his height when choosing sizes

In that case, the 177 is probably fine. Given your weight, I doubt you'll overpower them. Like SofaKing said, weight is usually a better decider than height in marginal cases, and if you factor in the small mountain/minimal snow, you probably won't benefit much from a bigger ski.

I have a tough decision to make. 177 (really only 174.5ish) is hardly an inch longer than my current 171s and I've always said that I wanted them bigger. 184 (really 182ish) is roughly 4" longer than my current setup. Being close to center mounted I would imagine that wouldn't feel too big. I guess the main question is, for my weight, will I see more stability/speed at the 184 vs the 177 or won't it make much a difference because I'm fairly light? If the longer length won't benefit me in that regard than I'm settled at 177.

i agree tough call but don't sweat it too much man. go with your gut. both will be awesome. i would add though that the regular ARV96 is softer than the ar7s, so yeah an arv96, that is only a little longer than the ar7s you want something longer than, is not going to feel too big. youre light but you can handle the 184 for sure, esp if you are more concerned with all mtn than park

Finally arrived yesterday and the 184s do actually measure out to be 182. I forgot to mention that I'm also really lightweight but I think I'll enjoy them a lot nonetheless!

I got my 184s the other week too. After looking at them, I'm happy with the decision. I think I would've been disappointed with 177s.
