Worst white out

I've been in a few but the worst was by far the time where i was at winter park. my friend and i were riding up the panoramic lift and it stopped multiple times due to high winds and the chairs were swinging like crazy even the fully loaded ones going up to the top. we decide to get the fuck out of there bc the wind was so bad and head down lower on the mountain so we book it off the lift and then it hits. we were on the village way ridge headed back down and this giant cloud engulfs everything and i could hardly even see my own skis. i had no idea where my friend went and the scary part was that there were ropes closing off the bowl to the right side of the run because of inadequate coverage and to the left it was about 20 feet steep downhill into a snow fence. the wind was so bad that it was pushing me to the side on the run and it even blew my strapped on helmet straight off my head i have no idea how i found it again but i did. i basically laid down in the middle of the trail until it got a little less intense and then i got out of there as quick as i could and found my friend. shit was crazy whats the worst white out youve ever been in

Little cloud, couldn't make out the chair in front of you, decided for whatever stupid reason to go looking for powder off of regulator. It was decent snow, but literally couldn't discern anything at all. Complete survival skiing, had maybe 10 feet of visibility if you can call it that, and 40 mph winds gusting in your face. Went back to peruvian after that and it was a little better.

Never been in a whiteout but I’ve been in some real thicc fog, if I extended my arm all the way out I couldn’t see my hand. It was actually pretty scary.

Mt Hutt NZ, No trees, no rocks, just endless white. Couldn't tell the snow from the sky. At one point just fell over cause I thought I was stopped, but apparently I was still moving real slow. Finally got over to the side of the piste and could see the bamboo trail markers (sorta). Never been so disoriented on the slopes in my life.

was climbing mt shasta early spring, really bad blizzard, had to use a rope to go piss so i could find the tent again. On our way down, was staring at this "bird" for 15 minutes, watching it fly towards me and get bigger and bigger, until i realized it was a rock covered by snow except for a little black patch, like 10ft in front of me.

Yee this season has seen some bad days :( on those days i just stick around the bottom and they usually set up these corragated pipes to compansate the closed park!

Targhee has so much potential. It's a shame there's only good vis like ten times per year.

was at a ifsa comp at stowe and it started raining and snowing at the same time, goggles freezed over, then my eyelashes. had to wait 3 hours before i could take my run becuase the judges couldn't see 10 feet in front of them

I was at Whiteface over christmas break. It was the first day of the summit being open, and they had compressed air snow guns blowing all over the place up there. There was a ton of fog, and it was dumping snow. When you add in the snow guns, you can't see anything in front of you. I only went up there because it just opened, and the snow was super soft. It started snowing around 10 am and stopped around 3pm. In that short time frame the summit got over 9 inches. Probably my 2nd favorite day of powder skiing ever because I am from the midwest.

Peak chair at Whistler. It was our second day there and peak chair had just opened up after a big dump. We get one lap in and it was clear so thankfully we saw most of the terrain and had an idea of what we were dealing with. Right as we get on the chair for a second lap thick fog rolls in and its complete whiteout. like 5ft visibility. We all chained together and felt our way down skiers left. Very aware of large cliffs that could be hiding anywhere. After about 10 minutes we get to a ridge and cant decide if its a slope or a cliff and sit there till a local comes by and just skis straight on to what was actually flat. We eventually found the trees and the little waterfall cliff area to lookers right. Pretty sketch being up there only for the second time with 0 vis and knowing about all the shit you can fall off.

One time I was at copper mtn at the three bears lift and the wind was so bad it was throwing ice blocks at me and it made my lips start to bleed. One of my scariest skiing experiences
