East coast mountains pre season

Anyone know what mountain opens the earliest on the east coast? A little early to know but if anyone knows anything lmk

Usually killington and Sunday river at a close second

Killington is usually the first place to open on the East Coast, even though there's no top to bottom skiing. If you do go, avoid the first week that they actually open up because there's a mass invasion of Jerrys, but it's still worth going once or twice to get the season started early.

Killi but avoid the first 2 weeks, I'd just wait til its top to bottom and the Jerry's are spread out, not sure how Sunday river is but they're open early too.
Idk how vermont's weather is but I wont be shocked if millington starts teasing all of us by end of October, hopefully hitting bone zone at Brighton by mid October.

Definetly especially if Sunday river is planning too also, both are icy death though that early.

It's often too warm to get that bad... Rail landings at killi often start to show grass by the afternoon tho

killington is normally dope early season, i went last year in october last season and it was well worth the trip they also have a few rails set up

That's the only reason it's worth it, otherwise its ice, jerrys, and those asshole 35+ y/os that go hard on everything they do.

this is very true, for me anytime on snow before december is well worth it rails or no rails there is always something u can find to sesh

Stratton should be open thanksgiving if the temps drop a little bit, last year we had a small ass rail park hidden away at the carpet like a few days after opening. Fingers crossed

If your closer south snowshoe West Virginia opens on thanksgiving weekend or the weekend before and normally has a small park

They have a lower lot where they offer camping during the summer so I bet they’re still chill about overnight parking there.

We camped in Gifford Woods State Park last year, it is 100% free in the off season, just have to apply for permission from the warden online. We had a covered lean too to pitch our tents in, plus a fire pit and table for cooking. Makes the pre season rip to killington worth it from Ontario!
