It's weird that people are super harsh about the difference between blunt and tail, but seem to be pretty loose about double safety and truck driver.

I can only do legit truckdrivers on rails. I have no idea how people get like that in the air.

I also have an NS judgment question though:
Taking the actual judging out of the equation for a second because judges are constrained by whatever rules they have been told to judge by...

What do you think the format for Big Air should be?

People hated on mandatory left/right at X Games, and with some justification. But at the same time, in this comp, Andri has essentially done the same trick twice (Triple 16 double safety, switch trip14 double safety (both the same direction, same grab, very similar rotation after the initial set)) and come out on top ahead of guys who's 'best trick' scored better. So should it be a single best trick contest to reward the best trick (maybe ABM, maybe Evan, maybe Finn in this case), should we have mandatory two different axis, mandatory different spin directions, other options etc?

Grabbing safety right under the boot shouldn't be scored any higher than not even grabbing at all. Looks stupid and adds no difficulty to the trick anyway. Someone tell spaghettli to grab blunt, and to give his podium to ABM.

Im tired of everyone and their mother only throwing corks in comps. I think it would be cool to see mandatory different axes, although I dont really care about spin direction. I think its more interesting to see someone go hard on their good side than watch half the tricks be a little less good. I definitely am into the jam format though where you can just get as many hits as possible in.

I think two different jumps is the way to go. A big air contest should be about aesthetics, diversity and consistency. Don't want to see the same couple tricks done by half the field, where a calculator, execution and amplitude are the only thing separating skiers.

Yeah man, the highly dangerous route we can go down is not doing anything different from Aerials.

That is 100% technical prowess, as long as you hold a body position that is considered good "Form".

The jumps they do are technically insane, they go so massive it is mind boggling... but that much flippy spinny shit that looks exactly the same will put you to sleep.

I'd like to see Big air with no mandatory anything, but with point reductions for repeating previously landed tricks. (aiming to avoid same axis/grab)

I don't agree, what if they were doing a dub 16 as a prep for a dub 18, just as a safety run? Plus, if you go back and clean up a trick you should be rewarded.
And if your doing the same trick as everyone else that's unfair too, because then the first person has the advantage, I f that was allowed the judges would have to change the whole scoring, of course creativity should be rewarded tho

not what I meant... I meat for the one competitor (not the whole field) if a competitor does the same axis/grab twice, + or - a 180, that shouldn't get a big point jump... but if they do a different grab on the same rotation, that would score higher.

I want to see variety, and if you need to do dub 16 safety to warm up for dub 18 safety, I really don't care about the extra 180, so you'd get a deduction. but do that same rotation with tail/blunt, then you'd get the extra points for the 18 w/ no deduction.

Maybe they shouldn't have a big air comp and instead do it like other extreme sports and just have a best trick contest. I know it would be hard to follow and I haven't thought it out at all, but just let the skiers loose on the slope course, they pick the tricks they want to do on that feature and done. Best trick contests can get pretty wild and there is always a huge variety in airs and grinds. Just imagine what a best trick contest would have produced at the Olympic slope course.

Not that anything we say matters though since FIS is only in it for cheese.

That's a double safety for sure. I guess a truck driver is double high safety then! I wish Ragettli would do a stink bug in his triple whatever. it would be more entertaining

That’s a terrible excuse, bow and arrow should also be grabbed well in front of the binding
