CoaxArcWhat's the real difference? And why is the AW more expensive?
mystery3Those are two different years right?
What kind of boot are you using or planning to use? What ski are you mounting?
SessionOne is last years model
patagonialukeThe new AW model works with Grip Walk soles, whereas the old WTR version works with WTR soles. Both will work with standard Alpine soles.
The new version is part of the industry-wide switch that we should apparently be seeing with brands ditching WTR for Grip Walk.
So if you only use alpine soles, just get whichever is cheaper. If you have boots with WTR or Grip Walk soles, pick the applicable version. And if you think someday you'll get a boot with non-alpine soles, the AW version will be a safer bet since we should see Grip Walk become the standard and a phasing out of WTR. But again, if you're just using Alpine soles, go with what you can find cheaper.
