Look Pivot: AW versus DWR?

I think the AW accommodates more boot sole types but in looking at Looks site I don't see any pivots labeled as DWR.

These are prived the same on evo but I've seen the wtr typically being priced $50 less elsewhere.

What kind of boot are you using or planning to use? What ski are you mounting?

Yeah I wonder if they just changed the name from WTR to AW.

The new AW model works with Grip Walk soles, whereas the old WTR version works with WTR soles. Both will work with standard Alpine soles.

The new version is part of the industry-wide switch that we should apparently be seeing with brands ditching WTR for Grip Walk.

So if you only use alpine soles, just get whichever is cheaper. If you have boots with WTR or Grip Walk soles, pick the applicable version. And if you think someday you'll get a boot with non-alpine soles, the AW version will be a safer bet since we should see Grip Walk become the standard and a phasing out of WTR. But again, if you're just using Alpine soles, go with what you can find cheaper.

the gripwalk one has ditched the adjustable AFD and Is (probably) going to be more durable because of it.
