ARV 96 Size

Hello,

I'm buying this year's ARV 96's and i'm getting them in 170 or 177. I'm 172 (5'8) tall. My previous skis were 2016 AR 7's in 176, but they were too stiff and not very playful. I'm afraid that the 177 might be too long as the skis are also wider than my previous skis. I'm also afraid that 170 is too short and not as stable. I ski 90% park and I want little wider skis so ARV 86's are not an option.

Im 5'11 and i ride 171 tigersnakes, there a bit small, but there still fun and playful. If your gonna get taller then go 177

if you are 172 ourself go for the 170, wouldn't 177 be way taller than you? the AR96 are softer than the old AR7 skis.

either one will be fine. are you still growing? bear in mind that the 96 is softer than the ar7s were

did you not feel in control of the 177s? if so. and youre not growing, maybe go 170 on these

Go with the 177, I'm 5'2 and I picked up a pair of the ARV 106 in 172cm after riding Lib Tech UFOs at 175cm last season. Longer skis are the way to go.

I won't be growing anymore and I have had 176 long skis for past 4 years. I want softer and wider ski, but I don't know if it's harder to stay in control of the ski when they are softer and wider. Right now I feel that 177 would be better for me as I have had 2 different 176s before.

oh okay gotcha. yeah no the arv 96 will be a little easier to manage since it's softer than the ar7 was

go 177 for sure if youre feeling it. id only say to size down to 170 if you were really feeling that with your gut and/or you werent in control of the longer length
