Volkl - Transfer 85 or Revolt 85 17/18 and bindings

Both are soft, jibby and symmetrical but the Revolt 85 is the more advanced model that has a bit more of a backbone and better quality bases. The Revolt 85 in a 179cm mounted center would be perfect for you.

Thank you Greg! So the revolt 85 is worth extra 15$. Damn, always thought that Volkl park skis are mostly really stiff ).

I don't want to start a new thread for a little binding question - at the last moment the guy that I wanted to buy Look P12 from decided to keep them for himself. So now I have three options:

1. new Look PX12 (used to have them for about 4 seasons, in general was an OK binding for me, but I had to replace baseplates on both heels because they cracked, our ski repair guy at the resort had a lot of spairs on them so it wasn't a big issue for the time)
2. Look P10, like the one in the attached picture (slightly used by a small kid on 4 din)
3. Look PX18 race (these are more used, people say that they are bombproof, but I am still not sure if they are in good condition)

All of them are about the same price. I am leaning more towards P10, because PX18 din starts at 10 and the max din that I skiied on was 11 and it was on beat up PX12. Will P10 be OK for me, even if i max out the din or should I get race PX and die? )

My option would be “none of the above” for those binding choices. Look went to the SPX range years ago that were lighter and better retention than the older PX range it replaced. You could get into the 12 Din Look SPX(or rebranded Rossignol Axial 3 version) for $120 US from AsoGear.com. (Rossignol Axial 3 120 90mm brake in black/white for $119.99 US free shipping.)

I am tight on the budget. I want to spend more on boots rather than everything else. For $120 I can get Rossi FKS140 and all mentioned above are around $55. I've found another offer of used Look P12 (actually Rossignol Axial 120 pro). A girl skiied on them only on groomers, so I think they will be in fine condition.

For $55 for a good 12 DIN binding you can’t go wrong and a better bet than a heavy race 18 or too low 10 DIN.

If the wall/ revolt 87 is a competition expert level ski, then the revolt 85 is the softer midlevel option from Volkl (but still a good ski). The transfer 85 uses the same dimensions as the revolt 85, but with lower quality materials for the core, base, laminate. hence the lower price.

But if you want something like the Rossi scratch, I would do the transfer 89 (what used to be called the kink)

Thanks for advice. But all my plans were ruined when the shop decided to reduce the discount for 85's couple days before I was planning to take them ). So I ended up taking Revolt 95 (for $155), everything else was beyond my budget (because of surprise price increase). Probably destiny is saying me "ride more pow" ), because I'm getting older.

far from a pow ski haha. the revolt 95 was the original revolt that Volkl did with Ahmet, they just added the 95 so it was more inline with the nomenclature of the other models

I know they are park skis ). Otherwise I wouldn't buy them. I mean that as skiers get older their skis get wider little by little until they end up with super fat skis and skiing pow only. May be my life is going the same way ).

You ended up getting probably the best all around park/all mountain ski from Völkl getting the 95. Solid underfoot and playful tip/tails. Great in the park and WAY better than the original Völkl skis you were looking at outside of the park. Enjoy!!
